Takara isn't going to let the US series have all the fun.

Any way to tell the listing’s for the reissue? Because the one I see doesn’t mention reissue and still has feb ‘20 listed as the release date.

 

So i bough a lio convoy, the paint was so thick near the hand swiwel that broke the piece. luckily i slammed the piece out, repaire the ring with superglue, polished the cylinder with sandpaper, a bit of wd40 just to be safe, and is like new.

 

It's probably a newer batch for sure if you order 'sold and shipped by Amazon JP' at this point.

The production date on mine is G2820. So it was produced on ~July 28, 2020, according to this thread:

I got this as a birthday gift from a friend! Love the figure! Thing is... of course I get the defective one...

Any ideas if I can replace this somewhat?

so basically, I got two right thigh joints... maybe some got two lefts?

I then took it apart:

you can clearly see what joint is higher than the other... he can’t stand straight ;-;

 

Can't you just rotate the leg 180?

 

No, the leg will stick out too far forward... I tried ;-;

I don’t think you’ve got two right hip joints...if you did, the screw would be visible on the left side wouldn’t it? Either that or it would sit too far back?

 

If you can see, the left one is basically the right hip joint is flipped upside down, that’s why the left leg is lower than the right leg. The mushroom pegs aren’t level.

 

I really wish this and the other Beast Wars weren't smaller scaled to the other MPs. I get that they're supposed to be smaller, but still.

 

Even with the odd lion mode, this thing is gorgeous. I never want to do that transformation again, but the resulting robot mode is incredible. I've loved Lio Convoy's design ever since my dad brought me back the vs. two-pack with Galvatron when he went to Japan for work. Now, I hope more Japanese Beast Wars designs get the Masterpiece treatment. Everyone wants an MP Big Convoy, and I do, too, but I'd love to see them tackle some of the designs that didn't quite work so well the first time around. Maybe someone weird like Break? I still have his toy on my shelf. He's one of the rare figures I prefer in alt-mode. The animation model is still a shell-former, but he has so much more presence than the figure. I doubt I'll ever see that happen, but I also didn't think I'd ever see something like MP Lio Convoy, so who knows?

 

I would definitely love to see an MP Big Convoy, but more so, MP Magmatron would be phenomenal  

 

It’s high time that Takara breaks this pattern of just sticking to Convoy for series other than season 1 of G1 and BW.

And I wonder if we are ever going to get that Artemis.

 

Maybe a Masterpiece Beast Wars II Galvatron with some alternate pieces to replicate his look when Unicron possessed him. That’s what I would like to see

 

Question about Lio Convoy: Are the Lion legs on the back of his robot mode arms anime accurate, or is it just kibble? Copy Convoy got me confused

 

They’re anime accurate, if a bit longer than on the show model.

 

Then we’ve finally been getting back to the “Super Animation Accuracy” pieces like MP-13 Soundwave even before Starscream 3.0
