Can’t wait for the painfully unfunny jokes, bad voice acting, and bright colors all wrapped in ten-minute episodes. Definitely haven’t gotten a show like that before.

They're really passionate fans of the franchise, and although their storytelling is hit or miss, they've proven to do a good job when they're really serious about it. Plus, it'd revive Transformers in Japan and possibly reel in new fans.

Plus it would maybe actually be a pretty looking action show with 20 minute episodes, and coming from a studio as respected as Trigger it might actually have good voice acting in the English dub.

To be fair, people were bitching about Siege even before we found out it was a Transformers parody.

I doubt it'd happen unless fans really let Hasbro hear that they wanted it with a campaign or something. Who knows. It's worth a try.

Transformers really need a strong competitor like gobots was to put them back on track.

I could see a comedy working but the issue is Hasbro needs to go total out of left field with the premise which i dont see them doing. Most likely this will be a TT-GO clone that makes fun of various aspects of the Transformers franchise but nothing else. You'll have a running gag of Starscream getting booted by Megatron only to just be back by end of each episode. A lot of "boi wouldn't it be awkward if someone picked up Soundwave and messed with his buttons?" like that Robot Chicken skit. It's going to be surface-level pop culture stuff that only the uninformed or easily pleased will find entertaining. Same with Star Trek Lower Decks or any other franchise going through a similar phase these days.

I'd offer to what to do to make it a success but I'm biting my tongue

Gundam needs a stronger presence in North America is what I'm choosing to take away from this statement.

The issue lies with though... with a brand as big as transformers, how would anyone provide strong competition for it? Like it's not going to be easy to topple such a giant.

Ah yes, we really need an equivalent of Lower Decks to revitilize the IP lol

I do hope we get an attempt at shaking things up a little but I'll believe it when I see it. And even then I'll probably remain skeptical till the very last minute that said attempt will produce anything good. But one can hope, at least.

If they ever properly rebooted/modernized G1, you'd find many of us would be satisfied and ready for other chapters or takes. I like TF Prime, but even in that they couldn't resist "making it for kids". People cling to G1 because all the other iterations insert some other unnecessary element into the show, or make silly fuckups like letting Michael Bay shoot the ass of supposed-to-be-teenagers up close or not commiting to property by paying for quality voice acting or longer episodes/formats. Siege was ok, but if they could nail a serious take on the brand, you'd see less push back on the Cyberverses of the world. As long as they continue to change what's made the brand last for 35 years, you'll have people fear that change is permanent/irreversible. That Earthrise is a prequel to whatever weird shit they're about to do so we can have Primal fighting Galvatron for some reason doesn't give me much hope for the rest of the trilogy, and puts increased pressure on whatever this animated movie is going to be. Give us proper meat and potatoes and then you can work on exotic desserts.

    This is bad comedy.

Regardless of whether the show is for me or not, good luck to Hasbro. The comedy I expect to be the Go style, which isn't for me but quite popular. A Harley Quinn style would be for me, but is very unlikely. Hasbro generally wants to keep the brand family friendly.

A more light hearted comedy focus with a setup similar to Animated or Prime might be a good middle ground but likely outside of current budget expectations. I enjoyed what humor were in those shows and the writing was strong at times. Prime tended to have a serious tone, with Animated being not quite as serious but the strong stories could make a solid basis for comedy.

My wife said they should do a scrubs style medical comedy starring Ratchet. Really play up the inhuman anatomy for jokes.

I'd take a new BattleTech cartoon given its recent resurgence. The original 80's cartoon was cheesy but in a good way.
