At this point cannot distinguish satire from actual complaining, so I’m gonna bow out til there’s more news... lol

 

My only complaint is that it doesn't have coronation gear. I've accepted that everything's more expensive now, so the price doesn't disgust me. I just hope it DOES have a waist swivel.

Would definitely be cool if we got a toy-accurate version of Starscream that came with a toy-accurate Megatron pistol (so a mini MP-36+).

Speaking of, sure would be cool if someone around here with digibashing skills would show us what that might look like!

 

Photos cant show what stress marks or paint chipping will be made during transformation, photos dont show plastic quality. Prime, hound, and bee have kinda been a bunch of overpriced let downs, until he is in people\'s hands and reviews have been done I\'d advise holding onto your money.

 

I don’t care about toy or toon accuracy as long as it looks like what it is supposed to look like and it looks GOOD! Every so called Masterpiece attempt at seekers from official or 3P before this one did not look GOOD to me. The officials looked good in alt mode from some angles but terrible in bot mode, the MT looked ok in bot mode from the front but everything else was hideous. MP-52 just looks GOOD.

 

This will be my first seeker so I am a bit let down by no coronation gear but his accessories are great, it just means I cant pose him dying with my FT Galvatron

 

It’s interesting they went shiny metallic eyes for the Starscream head that came with MP 44 but flat red for this. I think I prefer the non metallic.

 

That’s too Meta. It’s a toy holding a toy.

 

Can’t really judge by that. These are still hand painted prototypes being used.

 

Maketoys! And it's not even close. Maketoys only downfall is that god awful face! Takara will more than likely take the win in the paint department and that's it.

 

Honestly I think there's pros and cons to both. MP-52 has thin thighs and not having a waist swivel in this day and age is pretty dumb. A "little" waist swivel does not count when you won the "Life Long Design". The head on MRTM-11 is less than optimal to put it mildly and it's also more kibbly. As long as TT uses the proper materials, I'll be proud to own MP-52 and Makeytoys Thundercracker/Skywarp.

Megatron and Black Convoy are metallic and Prime and the Autobots like Hound and Bumblebee have been flat blue. Is the pattern that Autobots are flat and Decepticons are metallic lately or is it just random?

Honestly, Takara needs to go all-out with them.

But first and foremost lemme say this...

DO NOT GIVE US MORE FUCKING MEGATRON GUNS TAKARA

I will legit be pissed if they pull a fast one on us and keep including one with each Seeker again  

So with that out of the way, allow me to create a bit of a hypothetical parts list for what I believe most of us would want from Takara for a 2.0 Thundercracker and Skywarp.

Quick forehand: Some of these ideas will be repeated from what others may have said, I ain't an omnipotent being, haha.

And much like I did with Starscream way back when, I try to explore as many avaliable options as I can, so don't be surprised if I go crazy  

Before we begin, i'd like to quickly go over any accessories that both would include to begin with.



Starscream's faces, maybe with the last 2 should any be cut from these releases. Though these would instead be painted a lighter grey to match the cartoon models of Thundercracker and Skywarp (I'd show a recolored example but unfortunately, hue/saturation never plays nice with white and black colors of any degree.)



The blast effects and thruster effects being included with these two are a no-brainer. No need to explain further.



Same with the stands. But instead of Starscream's purple, a blue for Thundercracker and a black for Skywarp.





With these out of the way, let's get into the nitty gritty.

THUNDERCRACKER

Exclusive face sculpts:

(Smile (not as exorbitant as Starscream's), annoyed (same as the last, but in the case of Starscream's shouting face), drunken smirk and... I don't know how to describe that last one, though I can see it working with a certain accessory coming up later.)


Accessories:

Cluster missiles (from "Roll For It")



Clear Energon Cube (From "Microbots", to match the drunken face sculpt)



Half-full Energon Cube with removable hose (IIRC from "More than Meets the Eye: Part 1"?)



In-scale Reflector (Same episode, this is where I think that last face would work perfect, to really sell that Thundercracker's really getting down and dirty with some photo-taking.)




SKYWARP

Extra face sculpts:

(Concern (similar to Thundercracker's annoyed but with a curved brow, see Goku next to him for a more apparent comparison), Ecstatic (With a similar brow situation a-la Concern, thanks to Goku once again for the comparison shot), and a smug smirk (this time with a single brow up, thanks again to Goku for a comparison. Nah i'm kidding, it's Goku Black.) and a pondering/stern face.)









Accessories:

Skywarp's bouncer bomb (From "The Immobilizer")



The Transfixatron (from "The Autobot Run")


Half-filled energon cube (From "Microbots", much like Thundercracker's that was getting filled up, but now in purple!)



Actual energon cubes (To really make these worthwhile, i'd make them glow in the dark. Electronics would almost certainly not fit inside such a small stature to make them light up.).



And lastly, some spare robot parts (from "B.O.T', it's ok, I hate this episode too.).

 

I'm glad we got a better megatron gun

 

Autobots have been consistently flat blue for a long time (only MP-1 and Grimlock's robot eyes were metallic blue)

Would they go metallic blue for Jazz's visor? Hard to be certain, but probably not. Glossy blue will give the same shiny effect it had sometimes in the toon.


Decepticons have pretty consistently had metallic red eyes. I feel like one of the seeker repaints maybe had flat red (MP-11SW Skywarp? MP-11T Thundercracker?).

Even Thrust's eyes were metallic yellow (so gold) which I thought a bit weird, I think just regular yellow will look better.

What will they do for Soundwave? The original runs of Soundwave had metallic red eyes (see @Dean ML's avatar), but at least from the reissue in 2017, and maybe the more recent reissue, they used glossy non-metallic red instead. Will v2 Soundwave avoid metallic altogether? Quite possibly.

I find myself not too bothered either way, all options look good.

Nice list. I have no idea why you think they'd change the colours of the bases though? Starscream has no purple on him, the bases aren't designed to match the Seekers  
It's purple because that's the colour of the Decepticons base, and assuming Skywarp and Thundercracker come with bases they'll no doubt be purple too.

If they start including those bases with some Autobots then maybe they'll be orange  


All I know is for Thundercracker I want a smiling face and for Skywarp I want a lopsided smirk:

 

Yeah, I could be going a bit too high in the clouds on the stands, haha. Coloring based on the Decepticon base makes sense of course. I can only assume that they changed the color on Starscream's, besides the base coloration, so it wouldn't be mixed up with Dinobot's? Kinda odd but that's really all I can muster up as something they'd consider a reason to make the change.

But hey, would be pretty cool to see if they did give them their own colors, but it's no skin off my back if they don't.

Would love to see Autobot stands though, that would be STELLAR.

 

I will co-sign the last face for Thundercracker, for obvious reasons LOL!
