It's not looking likely, in that none of these posed pictures seem to show it off. Starscream's character design unfortunately doesn't really allow it, without breaking the sculpt in some way.

 

Is it the photos or is this gray paint darker than the sunbow and ggggggggg1 cartoon.

Not yet. I think it could be hidden by the pelvis and waist plate, as in being an internal waist swivel(where you can’t see the seam like you normally would), but I don’t know if it actually has it.

 

Yes that would be nice, similar to MP-44 but it doesn’t look like it has enough room it this case due to the way the waist area is shaped. Time will tell.

Part of me wonders if the decep logos will actually be stickers on the final product. I usually don’t like stickers at all but in this case I think that would actually be a smart move so that each customer can decide if they want them angled for bot mode or straight for jet mode.

Either way though this figure is looking amazing and I can’t wait until June!!

 

They will not be stickers. The hand painted prototype figures usually have stickers for the faction symbols. The production version will be tampos. At least I really hope so. The stickers on MP-29 really annoyed me.

I just had a horrific thought. I really hope I'm wrong, but what if Starscream is cheaper than we expected because he won't be fully painted? The prototype of MP-11 was hand painted as well and many people were disappointed when the production version was not painted. Normally I would never even think of that, but MP-49 was not painted so now I'm wondering if that is the norm going forward and not an outlier. THE HORROR!!! THE HORROR!!!!

 

Aw man, @Paco Grande , I thought your idea was ridiculous until you brought up 49 Nemesis Prime! I really think 49 was the exception to the rule, just a budget re-release of a desirable mold that left out tons of other gimmicks/accessories from the og to make it affordable. Hopefully TT knows they can't screw around like that with this important release. Consider though that even though the $200-250 most of us will be paying for Starscream is much cheaper than 44 Optimus, the actual figure is much smaller (Ironhide size) and doesn't have a big trailer, even leaving out accessories like the coronation set that a lot of us thought would be a given. Should be plenty left in the budget for a nice full coat of paint - let's just hope it's durable!

 

Something like a Hot Toys Superman cape would be great. No plastic please!

Can somebody explain to me what is going on with the wing transformation?
Is there just a second layer of wing to hide the tail rudders (if that\'s what they are called)?

 

The wing splits like a pita bread, opens up and hides the tail fin inside like a delicious sandwich.

 

Is there any reason to believe this has sound clips in it?

Has this been posted on Amazon Japan?  I\'m not finding it there yet.

I have this fear too, but was afraid to say it incase that somehow willed in into existence, hahaha.

 

The thought of Starscream not being fully painted actually makes me want the figure more. I never transform my MP collection out of fear of scratching their paint jobs. If there's one thing I wish they did with the line is lessen their use of paint so the figures weren't so easy to damage.

 

I think he’ll be painted. If they do a toy accurate repaint that might employ some bare plastic like MP-36+.

 

Overall I think this looks pretty cool, but those faces are really freaking me out. There's some uncanny about them and it's really offputting. Is it just me?
