They could’ve started with Crimson Guards with gold trim, I think those were labeled as Crimson Guard Commanders in the 25th multipacks
25th anniversary killed collecting for two of my friends. One quit entirely, the other decided to just focus mostly on Megatron merch. Classified is my first dip back into Joe.
Looking back, while some of it was fun, some of it was irritating. At some points it was an adrenaline rush. Some highs met with some very low lows. The “wait and see” approach both Hasbro and retail seem to be taking with Classified also reminds me of how the 25th line was initially handled. However I’m glad that unlike the 25th line, we can come across Joes at GameStop and Walgreens.
I really just want easy access to the toys I want to collect. Why is a hobby this hard? I mean if I wanted to spend hours and hours chasing elusive stuff I'd be more into neca turtles but there is a reason I dont really go for that line and it is distribution. It shouldn't be such a pain to get the item you want for any line least of all joes. It just seems these are an afterthought now. I can remember the days of the 80s line and seeing pegs upon pegs of joes and there was always so many to choose from. Sure they might be picked through some but if the character you wanted wasn't there, there was always another you'd need. The joe pegs are empty everywhere I go. Not just of the ones I am looking for but of ANY. It is like there are none to be found and when I do find them now it is just a more common figure and not one of the few army builders that are already out.
I'm hoping because most places are saying next year for Red Ninja that they've learned their lesson and are going to produce more Joes. With Hasbro, I guarantee that we'll get repacks until the earth explodes. Though another pass at CI stuff would be pretty appreciated.
Revenge of Cobra - Palace of Doom episode right there H. Paid way too much for this of off eBay but patience is not one of my virtues. I've decided I will keep all of these vehicles boxed and use them as a back drop for the classified line. This Hiss and Awe boxes were the exact same size so that's really cool and they'll work well for that purpose.
Thank heaven for Walgreens. At least they often get things that I don’t see elsewhere. They are, to date, the only store where I saw Reflector during Siege. I have plenty of Walgreens near me, so if I get antsy about finding wave 3, I’ll know where to look. The Cobra Island stuff might as well be an urban legend. You guys can post as many pics as you want, but part of me almost refuses to believe that it exists.
Wave 3 was initially planned for the end of this year but is now planned for Spring 2021. That *should* give time for retailers to restock adequate amounts. Hopefully.
Anyone else think it’s weird that we’re getting Cobra Troopers/Infantry and Cobra Vipers, before the Alley Vipers that were shown on the original promo art?:
This is why I buy almost everything but food online. Local stores clearly don't want my money. That or they just cannot grasp the connection between putting items on shelves and moving items through the checkout.
