XTB's not tweaking the trailer. They are tweaking the price of trailer. Focus groups are being brought in so they can finalize whether to charge $216.39 or $217.79.

 

And due to the scarcity of Velveeta cheese in China right now. XTB needs to source another supplier of Velveeta before beginning trailer production. The crumbly Feta they used for Dragstrip didn’t work out.

 

Dang, my budget limit was $215.28. Guess I'll have to skip the Menasor portion of my XTB Stunticons. *sad face

I knew they were producing figures at the moment but I couldn't think of what so I left it out. My bad. Late-night posts rarely go well for me.

I do agree that most, if not all, third-parties don't seem to have finalised combiner designs - just look at the issues with MMC's Bruticus, such as including a new joint for Onslaught because they hadn't planned for the weight of one limb in advance.

This is what I've been hoping for too (as well as Zeta's Onslaught being reissued with the improved knees from the box set).
I was also waiting on Dragstrip to get reissued with a fixed shoulder design before buying him. We've now seen that they've finally changed the shoulder design (which must have happened recently, because I'm pretty sure people got the same shoulders when they got replacements previously), but I'm not sure if there are any whole figures with the new shoulders pre-installed or not (probably not), so then I've got to go through the process of getting the new shoulders after I buy the figure.

I want Roadking myself but the prices are just going up, up, up lately, and by the time I could afford him earlier this year, he was already sitting around at least US$200. Now that he's hitting $250, I'm not so keen to drop that much on him... I really wish FansToys would do more reissues, especially for their combiner sets (there's clearly a lot of demand), and not inflate the prices when they do for once (I think they just do it because they know they'll sell no matter the price, but I'd like to believe they're just making significantly smaller batches, even though that's probably not the case).

 

DX9 will still finish first.

On a more serious note, I am thinking XTB is contemplating on whether to get rid of the base mode to save cost. Or they might sell two variants, one with base mode, and one without. Call the former, the Premium Hardcore version.

 

Now I think XTB removed the past 1 years posts from weibo account is not because of Weijiang issue. More like doing this it can remove any history of the promises made for the trailer, also all the angry comments from fans.

we don't know what the price will be, just wild speculation by those who don't know and are either exhausted by all of this or are trying to flame the thread.

 

XTB said they found some design flaws on the trailer prototype mold. So it means a new solution in the design HAS TO BE MADE, then a new cast and new parts. It takes time.

Me too, though why they couldn't have just posted that themselves (and folks like me without FB could then see it) I've no idea...

 

Finally some update. At least its coming out this year.

How could they get it fixed, moulds done, mass produced, solicited, pre orders etc. in 10 weeks (maybe 18 if we're generous and work from around the last updates)? Plus CNY is the very end of January, so there's a delay just waiting to happen...

 

My guess is that they caught the flaws a couple of months ago so they are now well into the testing phase. I HOPE the flaws were about joints not tight enough (shoulders, for example), and they basically had to make them as strong as, say, Zeta's Superion. I expect this Menasor to be super-stabile and super posable at the same time.

 

Hopefully. I don't understand why they couldn't say that during the splurge of social media activity. The deafening silence followed by a reply to a comment isn't good enough.

Also, we wouldn't have been complaining quite the same if we'd had this information weeks ago.
