I wasn't arguing whether Amazon will adjust existing POs when they drop the price of an item. Of course they will. Rather, in the past, they would start by giving you a 20% discount and then a couple of weeks/months later, they would tag on an additional 10% discount. But nowadays, based on my last few purchases, they just give you the 30% upfront. That's it.

Has something happened with Amazon Japan recently regarding shipping to Canada?  I literally just had Tigatron delivered from them and when I go to pre-order Starscream they\'re saying I can\'t have it delivered to my address.  What\'s the deal?

LOL house prices in my area went up 27.5% in one year. It's completely insane. Starscream is honestly much cheaper than I expected. If Thundercracker and Skywarp are priced around the same I'll be a very happy geek. I'm talking about Japanese retailer pricing, although even $265 USD at North American stores is not terrible.

I think this figure is stunning in bot mode and pretty damn good in jet mode. The bottom of the jet is not as good as MP-3 for sure but it's worth it for me. The transformation will most likely be pretty straightforward as well.

I really don't understand why some are not liking the faces. As soon as I saw that Starscream head that came with Prime V3 I wanted to see more of this figure. I also find it bizarre that the amazing chamfers and other sculpt shapes on the figure are seen by some as making him look round or fat. It's to make the surfaces a little more interesting because the toon style has a lot of flat surfaces. So instead of a plain square-edged block they add a taper and chamfered edges to make it look more life-like. It's stunning to me and I could not imagine a better Starscream.

 

They didn’t Forget, the figure does not have the vertical tale stripe because he didn’t have it in the cartoon. It’s one of those things like skywarp’s purple tailfins, or prime’s lack of truck stripe that people don’t usually notice but was almost always drawn that way.

 

He does have it in the cartoon, quite frequently in fact. It does disappear sometimes but it's on his animation reference model sheet too so he's definitely meant to have them.

 

It had been discussed earlier. Apparently he was often drawn in the toon without those stripes so we think Takara decided not to use them. I'm OK with it either way. The stripes and upside down Decepticon sigils on his main wings are more iconic so I'm happy those are there. Some people also wanted a blue nosecone. I'm OK either way for that as well but I think it looks better without the blue.

I really like that Anime Export price. From what I understand from reading, I'll have to pay for the figure upfront, but not shipping until it actually ships? What kinda price might shipping look like?

 

That depends on the animation model.


And trust me, the majority of the time (especially after they switched models for season 2) he didn’t have the stripes, including in the ‘86 movie which this figure takes the majority of its coloring cues from.

 

They have a estimate thing on their site. But you never know with, well, you know.

Mustn't have noticed that happen that way with Hound. I skipped 46, 48, 49, and 50. Though I thought Arcee gradually dropped over time? Maybe not though. Haven't been paying much attention to it.

They should have accessories. There is a lot each could have in addition to most of the faces they gave Starscream.

 

He absolutely shouldn't have a blue nosecone. But equally he absolutely should have red lines on the blue tail fins. From allspark pages:

Well damn, I was certain he had the stripes more frequently than he does. It looks like he is done with the movie in mind as the original reference model also has a blue nose cone.

Speaking of which if they do a Hasbro version again I wonder if there's a good chance the nose cone will be on the same sprue as the other blue parts like how MP-3 and MP-11 did which made it so you could clean off the paint and have it be the bare molded blue plastic, which is what I did to my two.

Honestly I don't mind if the nose cone isn't molded in blue but he really should have the tail fin stripes, pretty much every figure of him in his G1 style has had them.

 

The model you shared there is indeed the best one and he sometimes had the stripes in the animation, but usually they omitted it (like Optimus's grey cab stripes being present in the commercial outro but omitted on MP-44).
