My issue is that compared to G1 Transformers, the Beast Wars toys were well articulated and also high quality. You didn't really have any transforming bricks. I picked up nearly the entire cast of 90s Beast Wars toys for my son over the past few years, and don't see any need to buy these new ones.

If all you had was a G1 Optimus, an Earthrise Optimus is a huge jump. A G1 Beast Wars Primal to this, isn't that same kind of leap.

    No reason?

That's at least somewhat understandable. Even the very first original Primal without the show accurate faces is a stellar toy, but it is also likely fairly harder to get ahold of these days.
I appreciate this variant on the big boss monkey, which is also designed to be compatible with current line gimmicks, like the blast effects and whatnot. I'm still looking forward to getting one.

This is why I was warning them to not have ridiculous standards. If the beasts don't sell, the executives aren't going to say "We should try again with more paint and better engineering." They will just assume that no one wants them. Then the same people will claim hasbro hates BW fans.

If only he came with the ass or gut gun that Cheetor would be so complete.

The old cheetor kinda looks like a playschool transformer in comparison, or like those "fast action battlers" or whatever they were called from rotf

The OG Cheetor is still awesome! Great toy!

TT always has such nice promo images. They really know how to pose these figures. Hopefully we'll see more shots of Cyclonus soon as well.

I can't help feeling they might end up pulling another Gen Selects Centurion. Maybe recolor a Fossiliser as Transmutate and just have them come with all the extra missing shite.

As Paleotrex's parts picture confirms - トランスフォーマーの武器にもなる新たなウエポナイザー兵士!【国内:タカラトミーモール限定】KD EX-01 パレオトレックス 登場! - his head comes off on a stick and forms a mace, effectively an updated version of the Ultra Optimus Primal's ball & chain.

That leaves us with a headless Dinosaur skeleton robot.

Now what if we had a part starting in a 5mm peg, that rose up to about 5mm less than the height of the shaft of Paleotrex's mace, and was topped with a Titans Return head connector......

SHAPEWAYS PEOPLE: your mission, should you choose to accept it, is to give me the means to put a TR Titanmaster on that body!

I\'m not sure if Cheetor\'s beast mode should have pupils or not.

Love how Primal looks, always wanted a toy of him when I was a kid and Rattrap is alright. Can\'t wait for a Dinobot, Rhinox and Silverbolt.

love it or hate it, this is a good way for me to finally start a Beast Wars collection that doesn\'t cost an arm and a leg.

I just wish they don\'t do anything like make a Generation selects Tigatron or Tarantulas....  Which I have a suspicion they WILL do.

Still in awe of how phenomenal Primal looks. The inclusion of his wrist guns really makes it feel like an affordable Masterpiece alternative.

I’m hoping that Ractonite or Wingfinger has Cheetor’s gut gun.

That's a good point, he had a gun in the original storytelling. I can't say for sure what Kingdom storytelling will do, but I know the toy looks like he has a robot fist where his stomach should go, and that's where his gun could be covering up that mess.

Some ball joints maybe, but when it's all ball joints and they're just nakedly out there? Not for me, thank you. Look at the TR and POTP Legends figures, a lot of them mix ball joints with hinges well, they offer designs on ball joints that you don't see as much, it's more satisfying than "Oops, All Ball Joints!" You like what you like and I'll do the same, I don't like how this one looks and I intend to avoid it when it is released.

I guess 3rd party companies will most likely make a gut gun for Cheetor?

Speaking of conventions, are we expecting any Hasbro reveals for NYCC? We’re 2 days in and there doesn’t seem to be anything TF-related yet.

Makes sense. They skipped SDCC, so they’re skipping this as well. I’ll wait for the next Fan Friday.

Cheetor looks like a happy meal toy but Primal looks great. Such a contrast.

Figures look mostly pretty good, and if I were a completist with cash flow like my G1 days I'd whip out the checkbook.

However, with me ONLY collecting Micromasters and those being toast... well, it's gonna make the budget a little easier to compensate for the insane prices of ammo.
