The fact that the pre-orders sold out hella fast proves your whole "Takara is killing their own line" line as false. If time has proven anything its the toon accuracy is selling very well. I mean if youre not a fan, then cool. But dont make it as just because you dont like it the mass majority dont. Your opinion is yours and yours alone, but the numbers dont lie.

Hound, BW Megs, and Optimus Prime V3 all sufferend from serious QC control issues that cause breakage. Thats 3 L's in a row. Then you got the price increase. They are pricing out the average collector. And 3rd parties are only adding fuel to the fire by keeping their prices affordable. Even if you can afford V3 Starscream, wouldnt you rather have 2 seekers or 3 Autobot cars for the same price ? Lots of people think like that. And the literal cartoon direction is fairly new. It probably started with Sunstreaker but wasnt really brought into the spotlight until V3 Optimus was announced followed by Bumblebee. Id call it a culture difference. It appears in Asia they really like the "animated" look in every aspect of life to include blow up dolls. America seems to have more automobile ent and aircraft enthusiast collectors who want to see a more realistic aesthetic in robot mode. Needless to say, Im in that camp. If its going to turn into a real life vehicle, why would I want the robot mode to be an exaggerated super cartoonu aesthetic ? Transformers isnt Gundam, Power Rangers or one of those anime cartoons where all men look like bodybuilding elves.

 

But will the spine lock into place? That's the real question...
