Here’s the thing with MPM-10 Starscream. It’s part of the Masterpiece line so the expectation is for it to be the best out there. That can’t be helped and no one should be blamed for expecting that. There’s no other official transforming line out there to expect anything better from, this may be it. Who knows if Hasbro or Takara will make an all new MP movie Starscream from the ground up in the future?

Could it have a better and kibble free jet mode? I think it can....if it had a bigger jet mode with more folding pieces/hinges. Would it still have been $150 at Target? I highly doubt it.

It doesn’t blow away previous mainline movie Starscreams in every category but surpasses them in most. No official movie Starscream has the right colors, closest might be the Takara DOTM deluxe repaint or the Movie Advance voyager repaint from ROTF or something. The Studio Series and DOTM deluxe Starscreams have the most accurate jet modes with less visible robo kibble.

However, MPM Starscream smokes all mainline movie Starscreams in regards to its leg articulation and robot mode accuracy. It’s a mixed bag that definitely isn’t perfect but excels in certain areas.

I think it’s absolutely worth it for $45 if you find it for that price. I paid $150, wish I paid less, but who doesn’t. Given the parts count and size, if this wasn’t made with cooperation from Hasbro this would’ve costed more.

That doesn’t mean it’s accurate. It’s a pre-built model and some companies get the colors wrong.

It does look a whole hell of a lot better in the right colors though!

Is that yours? That looks incredible! I really wish Takara would do specially painted premium editions of the MPMs.

    Hey guys,
I'm 2 weeks late to the party! I saw a couple of MPM-10s at my local target 2 or 3 weeks ago and couldn't pull the trigger at full price, I was going to wait to see if they get any type of discount the upcoming weeks, I was checking a youtube review of the figure last week and to my surprise I saw a comment that this was on clearance, howcome? it's been what?? a month or less that this one was release?

anyway I check the targets around here and they were gone! just a few ones that have the "on hand" item tag and they are missing in the store and no one can find them. damn scalpers got them all!!

Is there a way that any of you can buy me one from your local target, I'll pay you for your troubles, you name the amount!!! please!!! let me know who's up for the task!!

    Thanks guys!

I'm looking to sell mine actually. Send me a pm if you're interested. He's a great figure but no place in my collection. I'm worried if I keep him then I'll want to get all the other mpms too:D

Looks so good! I'm still trying to work up the courage to paint mine. I have a question though. I'm planning on painting jet mode I'm going to use my airbrush. Did you disassemble yours, or did you just spray while it was in jet mode? I'm just concerned about paint running down between the seams.

Nah, it ain’t her fault. She found the dog on the side of the road and I okayed her bringing it home. She’s responsible for it day to day but at the end of the day it’s not hers either (plus it diiiiid also chew through the cord or her very nice printer today). Thankfully someone’s picking it up this weekend and neither of us will have to deal with it again.

Here is the comparison between Black Mamba Starscream and MPM Starscream. Then I include how MPM Starscream looks with the Movie 1 movie masterpiece Decepticon cast. I believe this is the best representation of Starscream and the most movie-accurate movie 1 Decepticon figures

so after seeing them side by side i can honestly say i like the bmb screamer better. the only thing i like on the mpm is the wings and the chest/pecks details sections. but i dont like them $100 more. cant find him for $45 like some have. even at that price the bmb look better still. tighter under jet kibble. no weird parts hanging off the vehicle tail fins or the front of the wings. yes it has partsforming thrusters. but i prefer that over gimmick thrusters that take up space that they could have used to better hide the robot kibble. like they dont become the thrusters for the jet mode so what was the point? the but flap looks bad too. rather have no butt or a partsforming piece than panel hinge ass. i dont think either has an opening let alone functioning cockpit so thats moot. they seem to have the same articulation. not really feeling having to pay for a figure twice too... i suck at painting and mpm 10 is made of barf greyish brown cause siege used all the gunmetal ever produced on earth that no one asked for obviously. so buying a $100+ figure and paying someone $100 to make it look like it should have looked from the start irks me. especially considering that HasTak is known for re releasing mps in more accurate colors schemes later on. to each their own these and more are my reasons though. i just cant justify spending all that money just to get him look par for course. showed several ppl your pics and asked them to pick one and they all agree that one looks way better than the other. when if the premium version comes out ill get that. or a thunder cracker/skywarp repaint. sure but original is...ugly to me.
