Instagram is great for pics and stuff, but why people choose to get their news from there is beyond me. Anyone can put anything there, and I see sooo much bullshit on there. Unless it's someone very reputable like @capcomkai I wouldn't pay any attention to it.

Got my WMW BA head today along with the chest upgrade piece (autobot logo and rearview mirrors).

Head:
The heads is awesome! It's really solid, kinda hefty, and looks sooooo good. The sculped and painted details are amazing; especially the eyes. Makes the old head look like he's wearing super thick glasses or squinting really hard. You can actually see expression now.

The proportions are perfect too. Having the right size head on him makes him look significantly better (and he already looked fantastic!) and like he actually did come off the screen. With this head on, I don't think it's even necessary to do any kind of chest modification, but to each there own  

Highly recommend the chest upgrade as well. Fill out his chest nicely and gets rid of that gapage that was there before.

The plate that the neck and head attach to is a little thinner or at least less solid plastic and there can be a little flexing when you put his chest back together, but once everything is back down it goes away. Super easy installation too!

It looks like they shoved a bunch of blue in the bottom of the head and then carved out a hole for the ball joint, but mine sits on there pretty snug and isn't loose at all.

My pictures aren't anywhere as cool as Shmoptimus Prime's, but I hope they do something for you! (Pardon how out of order they are, my phone doesn't want to cooperate).

 

How's the range of movement?

 

Really good. No issues looking up or down and and I can have him look side to side without having to move the neck base

 

After a horrible weekend, I was happy to get my BA Prime mega upgrade pack from Dino Model Shop.

1. WMW head
2. GYToys Big Cannon
3. 07 chest/sideview mirrors
4. ROTF hooks
5. DOTM chest/abs/knuckles

Overall I'm impressed. There's a lot to go through so pics will be coming later hopefully. Of what I have looked at so far...

The cannon is great. The colors are a bit too bright though. I might try to put a transparent layer of gunmetal over it to mute the red and blue.

The head is ok. The size is perfect and the neck is also perfect. The range of movement is what I was hoping for. Unfortunately the paint leaves a lot to be desired. Especially when I compare it to the Capcomkai leafage head. It doesn't match in color or finish (the leafageone does a good job color matching) . The quality is lower too. It's much bigger than the leafage head but it's lighter.

Not sure if I already posted but it's a sad day bois. Roommate knocked a moving box over and a domino effect caused a tub to slide into the coffee table breaking him in three places.

I should probably ignore the broken clip on the right smokestack, but I could probably reinforce it with a clipped pin and some CA glue with baking soda but that would be potentially very messy. Now I've done a little research, I could chemically weld it with acetone or methylene chloride depending on whether it's ABS or polycarbonate, but the testing of done with those showed the adhesion to be pretty weak and I don't know how to test what kind of plastic is under the chrome.


The left smoke stack will be interesting to repair. I don't think it needs to stand up to a lot of stress, so plan A is using the tiniest bit of loctite formula 404 and clamp drying it, possibly after adding a light coat of oil to the inner smokestack to protect it.


The last repair is the middle "thumb" clip on the front left bumper holding the corner guide "antenna" steady. Disrepair can be uglier than the others because it's hard to see in both modes. Might just glue that down quickly and call it a day but this one does need to stand up to a certain amount of stress. I could reinforce it easily though with the baking soda trick since it's hard to see.

 

I had a front bumper clip break off on one of my copies. If you tighten that joint with polyurethane or future it's hardly noticeable and still fully functioning.

This is the definitive Movie Optimus. Pisses me off so much that they got raided.

Does anyone have any idea as to where I could get him? Or if someone here would be willing to sell him for usd?

 

At this point, you won't get him without paying a severe late tax and a rarity fee. All you can do is hope that TFDreamfactory really does have the files and decides to release him.

Too bad Legendary toys can't take the mods and create molds off the files to do it and upscale their MPM04 KO..
I'd take it in the MPM scale or the BA Scale..
I have little faith in TF Dream Factory.. I doubt they will release it.
We may be in a Bayverse BA MPM Prime drought for the foreseeable future, unless some other 3rd party does their own rendition that blows MPM04 and BA's MPM 04 KO out of the water.. Till then..
I am going to chill (SMKABWL) and wait... 

 

Legendary Toys uses shit plastic.

 

I really wouldn't care what scale it was for. Just the overall lack of kibble and AMAZING paint job wows me. Hell, He could essentially be a voyager sized figure and I'd buy him in a heartbeat. Things like this really show how much more love and effort they put into their figures than Hasbro.

But keep in mind that there will likely be a better prime coming out a few years from now, so don’t overspend
