I wonder how well the colors of the new accessories match up against the PotP Terrorcons. To me, the better parts with the toy based colors would be the perfect blend.
I like the retooled/additional parts and the paint but not enough to rebuy Abominus. Especially not at a higher price.
Now, I just need to refresh my memory how these compare to the TDW and PE addon kits for the original POTP Abominus
Hun-Gurrr is not the only Terrorcon who has retooled parts. If you look closely Takara designed a new connection assembly for Cutthroat's beast head. No more head popping off for this mutant bird/Pteranodon monster.
So Takara, famed for extra and better paint applications, replaced Hasbro's stickers on Hun-grrr with... Nothing. Hmmm.
I still hope for GS Starscream combiner. In the fact that Starscream doesn't appear in Volcanicus comic.
Which kinda makes me wonder if they have anything planned after that. Until we get to see the next part of the comic, we are kinda unsure.
This is actually less effort than the Volcanicus set!! The only improvement I see is the combined mode hands that have articulated fingers and the combined mode BFG that are reuses of the Seacons. And the return of bland combiner torsos. I always think Takara combiner torsos are like walls with murals that are bathed in same colored paint. Such wasted potential...
Yeah, i guess that's sorta the downside of just making a "Show Accurate" version of a combiner. Kinda would be hoping for something actually wild. Like think about something homaging actually obscure color schemes.
