I think that would be wise; IIRC, they say that if you're selected, they'll contact you for a higher-resolution image for production. So best to keep your original high-res file(s) and export reduced-resolution PNGs to post, just in case.

You'd have to read the rules carefully, but I'm inclined to say 'no.' But I don't feel like trying to parse the legalese right now.

Currently it doesn’t seem like it. They seem to prefer you drawing Starscream for example and if so, a specific version of Starscream, not a hybrid.

That’s something I recommend asking them beforehand.

That’s something I recommend asking them. I think part of the whole reason behind this contest was to eventually stop people from making money off of printed/unlicensed Transformers merchandise off of Red Bubble, et al.

This is not sarcasm or a joke, but this is my favorite so far and I will buy a T-shirt with this on it.

    select your images

    and That's all

I had my questions about the boundaries for the concept of "collectibles", so I sent an e-mail about it.
And they said that... there are no limits about what can you do in this area.

BUT it would be a little more difficult for your design to be selected.

Anyway, I upload a render from a Star Saber figurine...

    Star Saber hero pose.PNG

...and it's going well (at least talking about the votes)

Can someone please help me. I am having issues uploading my artwork submissions for the Fans Forge Contest. All my files are under 2MBs. All my art are paper and pen scans. I've tried scanning it as 1000x1000pixel which included a lot of dead space, but it did not allow me to submit still so I don't know. Please help.

    here are more

You probably need to scan it, then modify in a separate program, like photoshop. If not PS, then GIMP is free I believe. You change the resolution and size as needed, and make more ideal cropping so there is little white space showing. Make sure to save a new file for modification. Also save as a .jpeg file type.

you may only need to save as a .jpeg for your current works to upload.

Thank you. I just filled the background and saved it. Now how do I convert the file to JPG/PNG/GIF as it is .xcf?

How the hell are you scanning it as a specific size (not DPI) and getting XCF files?

Also I would suggest scanning at more like 300 DPI. It looks like you're doing 150 DPI at best. Remember, this is going to be printed on a real life object without the benefit of pixel blurring. You don't want people to be able to see the pixels on the final product.

Hey guys!I can't upload an image to the Transformers fanforge contest. The image is JPEG, size is 220 kb, 1000x1000, 72 dpi. Help would be greatly appreciated.

It seems fanforge wants a small preview image, after that they request a hires version. No need for 300 dpi to upload. But the artist should scan at 300dpi initially and downsize from there. Making backups from the original files.

    @hinomars
That looks great! Really reminds me of some cool 1980s anime like Bubblegum Crisis. Hope it wins!
