I'd buy that, but it wouldn't be a dollar.

 

The complete and utter unavailability of a trailer for TE-01 is making me a little nostalgic about the old days when getting a trailer for MP-01 felt similarly impossible. The more things change the more they stay the same...

 

The official MP-44 trailer may get a KO or Transform Element may elect to design their own. I'm confident one or both of those will happen eventually. The demand is there.

 

Honestly, once I was able to find an auction for just an MP-44 trailer, That is when I became fully invested in OP Leader. I don’t know how nobody has KO’d that trailer yet... it fits so well with OP Leader. I paid around $150 for mine, I think? That was the trailer, with accessories, sans MP-44.

 

Cant have an Optimus without a trailer....It just feels wrong you know? I bought a studio series Nemesis KO and I am on the lookout for a scaled trailer.

I cant imagine having TE without one...I too hope they KO the mp44 one.

 

Such a great shot. It's too bad Optimus Prime lacked his cab stripe in the show, especially since he clearly had it in robot mode. The trailer looks so incomplete without those beautiful stripes, too.

OP Leader and the MP-44 trailer absolutely nail that cartoon look, though. I hope I can get a trailer for mine one day. MP-10's trailer just doesn't look right with OP Leader without that cab stripe.

I suppose I could fudge the MP-10 trailer in with OP Leader if I give him the silver cab stripe? Maybe then it wouldn't look quite as mismatched. The full 'toon look would be kinda wrecked but then again I've always disliked the lack of the cab stripe. Hmm. Considering.What you guys think?

 

If the full toon look really bothers you, you can get the toyhax labels that adds the silver stripe to OP Leader. You would just have a very Toon prime in robot mode with an MP-10 trailer lol

The full 'toon look doesn't bother me as much as pairing it with a not-'toon trailer. I really shouldn't be trying to use the MP-10 trailer for this guy or putting decals on him since the whole point is the cartoon look, especially since I have my idealized Prime represented by other figures in my collection. That's why I should be waiting for a KO MP-44 trailer. I'm just being impatient.  



OP Leader makes me happy when I look at him in all his cartoon glory. Takes me right back to the days of watching G1 Transformers with my brother on our small TV. The same four or five episodes we recorded ourselves on VHS, while munching on our favorite cereal. So grateful to have this wonderful representation of cartoon Prime.

V1 any good? What was fixed in the later releases, should I try to get later versions instead?

 

V1 didn't have any issues per se. They just changed some things on V2, the knees became plastic, they fronted/shaded his windows, and it came with a second head.

 

I dont think they changed anything on the new version. I dont have the earlier versions but others have said its the same as the previous one. I really like the figure and its great quality for the price

 

V1 - initial release.
* Die cast knees
* Transclearant blue windows
* Signia indent in shoulder
* Shipped with Autobot stickers
* Season 1 head with white face
* Orange LED in gun

V2
* Changed silver die cast knees to blue plastic
* Added finer toothed ratchets in shoulders, hips, and knees for more stopping points and better posability
* Shipped with extra head that was a more movie or MP-44 style head with grey face
* My V2 had a red LED in the gun, others still had the orange LED.

V3
* Windows were changed to opaque blue plastic
* Even finer ratchets in shoulders, hips, and knees for better posability.
* Still comes with both style heads, S1 head has grey face now.
* Red LED in gun
* Smooth shoulder. Indent is gone and no longer ships with Autobot stickers.

V4
* Same bot as V3, but now comes with a black plasma cannon instead of grey. Still has red LED.

 

Has anyone who had QC issues got reply from your shop?
I missed the matrix, cracks on feet. But as far as my shop told, TE will not provide replacement parts until next release. They said they produced them not enough.
What a disappointing reply. I'm not sure if they tell the truth or just because I bought from a small shop. Feel bad for the one who missed the wheel, indeed.

 

Does it actually plug in ?? Or just rest on the truck bed ??

The more I look at TE in truck mode, the more I realise how I need to paint the wheel wells in red. The silver just stands out too much !!
Ok, done !! I'll paint it on the weekend !!

 

Backwards neck on mine too, but super easy to correct, matrix intact and no other issues. Glad to have a black pew pew this time around and very happy to have this absolute jewel back in my collection. I even gave him his own figure.

 

Anyway guys, to "fix" the red led, i'll put a little transparent yellow plastic inside the barrell to have the orange color. Stay tuned  

 

Still no one who wants to part with their v.3 or 4 grey S1 head? I'll do $20 + shipping.
