Lucked out finding Storm and Thunderbird. Storm has the new pinless legs and arms for the female bucks. I thought the arms were just the ones we’ve been seeing since 2013 but was pleasantly surprised to see that they’re not. They actually bend beyond 90 degrees. The knees however, only amount to a 90 degree bend altogether when both knee joints are bent. Not sure why the lower leg sockets weren’t cut out further to enable a deeper bend. The effect hands from the top look like some areas of the fingers were supposed to be left unpainted as part of the lightning bolts. However they’re painted so it gives off the impression that Storm has worms around her fingers(on the top). Otherwise this Storm is awesome and by far my favorite Legends Storm. Always liked the costume. The hair could’ve had better paint apps there’s some cool grey applied to give it depth and but went over the crevices instead of into them, in some areas. The diaphragm joint here moves farther than previous female Legends(but not as far as a traditional ab crunch). Thunderbird is solid but uses an older buck(Grim Reaper maybe?) that doesn’t have as much range as the newer male bucks. The tassels are sculpted separately which is appreciated for more depth. However the boot tassels have the same issue the Jim Lee Cyclops had where they slip down easily. Also got Deadpool w/Negasonic Teenage Warhead. Negasonic is okay, entire upper body is all new, lower body is probably from the older female bucks. IMO, should’ve been sold separately for $20. Movie Deadpool is the main draw of the set. Neck joint is a barbell joint without a socket at the base where the head meets the neck. So while you get decent range, it’s not as much as other recent Legends(but the drawback to those is a gaping socket at the base of the neck where it meets the head). My only issue is that the pistols in the holsters were designed to be removable, but are glued on. Also the fists and open hands don’t have the silver stripes painted on the back, wasn’t sure why. Doesn’t bother me but figured I would point it out. Deadpool could’ve easily sold separately at $20, even $24.99(the MSRP Hasbro set for movie jacket Wolverine, Mystique, et al). Wouldn’t surprise me if we see it released again solo at those prices. I wanted both figures but wish Deadpool was available separately, since some only want Deadpool(understandably so).
I watched Logan again today. Yeah, Hasbro, I'mma need a Laura figure to go with my Logan/Charles 2-Pack. Like yesterday.
i think it will happen...though would she sell better paired with another version of Logan or a different character?
Maybe with the clone Logan? Could be a 3 pack, Laura, Logan and clone Logan. Or maybe it could be a 2 pack with clone Logan but an alternate head for the real Logan.
Possibly. But who knows if it will come with both heads and the effects pieces? Also, I wouldn’t mind getting Thunderbird as well.
Finally....... That's all the Brolin I'll need in this lifetime. Still waiting on Deadpool and sulky Teen.
Forgot to mention I payed about 15 dollars for my War Machine at Gamestop. Used coupons I had along with some trade credit.
Hey, has Pulse shipped out anyone's Hellfire Club Guardsman yet? Mine have not, yet, some stuff I ordered over the weekend just shipped out.
Hmmmmmmmmm, not sure I like the lack of the white furry collar, but it is using a superior body than the one I already have... Guess I'll preorder it now and can always cancel later.
Black Cat is on Pulse. Torso looks better on the old release (Green Goblin) and the rest looks the same except updated face and spike collar. Yeah, I ordered the new one too but probably still use the old for display.
The problem is the old one doesn't have neck articulation and the heels make it impossible for her to stand (plus, she didn't have heels when she originally appeared in the comics). I'm conflicted as Hasbro has really made this figure look just like her original comic iteration outside of the furry collar. I guess my dilemma is, is a furry collar really worth an inferior figure????? EDIT: FedEx is keeping me very paranoid. My Hellfire Club set has been in the facility by me since Saturday, but they insist that they aren't going to deliver it until tomorrow.
Preordered Black Cat at BBTS. Had to go look at my old one though. Wish they would've kept the fur collar and zipper. Heels I don't mind but if they had to replaced I'm glad it was flat boots and not ridiculous looking wedges. Edit: Hair sculpt at a glance looks very similar to Dark Phoenix...
