The second trailer for Bumblebee is probably my favorite. I loved the shot of the triple changers and the overall tone of that trailer. It got me super hyped. The runner up for me is probably the first trailer for AOE (not the Super Bowl spot, but the first proper trailer). I liked the stuff with Cade finding Optimus and all. I also think all the trailers for TLK were really cool. The first one was especially interesting, with the tease of Optimus vs. Bumblebee. The final movie was kind of disappointing, but the trailers did a good job hyping it up.
Bumblebee probably had the best trailer as far as depicting the movie and characters in the best and most accurate way, but there's simply no contest for how fucking epic the first TF 07 trailer was back in the day. I don't think the fandom has ever collectively lost its shit to such a degree since.
Regardless of how abysmal the films are, the first trailer that was released for the 2007 movie that only shows a mech attacking a Mars rover was epic as hell. It was awesome enough, but the moment we see that Autobot symbol it was like "FUCK YEEEEEEAAAAH". I'll never forget seeing that in the theaters as long as I live.
Yeah - because it's basically played like a horror film. The sinister build-up, establishing that something happened to the Beagle 2 Mars Rover and that it was kept secret, and just that brief glimpse of a mech (in the film, it's implied to be Blackout) attacking it, capped off by the tagline "it was the only warning we would ever get". When I saw that teaser, I was nine and watching either Pirates of the Caribbean or Happy Feet in cinemas, when that trailer came on. I just thought "Wow". In fact, I would say the '07 film's marketing campaign is probably one of the best in cinematic history - it built up a sense of ominousness and menace for the film, portraying it as this dark Independence Day-style alien invasion film. In a day where blockbuster films basically explain the plot in the trailer, there's something to be said for the simplicity of that marketing campaign. I think that's why the first film is going to be the one that everyone remembers for years to come, because that trailer stuck in everyone's mind. Helped by the fact that it was the only halfway decent Bayverse film.
For me it was the DOTM trailer. A nice recreation of the moon landings with some serious shit going down which was incredibly vague. It got me instantly hyped wondering why there was a hidden ship on the moon, and who exactly was the ancient looking bot with none of our typical main cast in sight? Really cool stuff. Honorable mention goes to BB for the first trailer with Bobby Bolivia quotes in the background. Even after it was marked as a reboot it's still a nice touch.
For me, it was definitely AoE's The intensity and just how the music played out was something I truly admired. It was truly pumping.
1-Revenge Of The Fallen Superbowl Teaser When I watched this teaser for the first time, I found it amazing! 2-Bumblebee International Trailer I liked all the trailers about bumblebee, but this is the one I liked the most. 3-Transformers The Movie 1986 And I can't leave out this beauty.
The second trailer for the 2007 film still gets in my head sometimes: From Sam's "He's like an angel," to Megatron making Jazz squeak, to seeing Starscream jump-flip-transform, it cemented that I was going to see this film asap, even if Bay was directing it.
My ranking of the trailers: TFTM 1986 Bumblebee trailer 2 Transformers 2007 both teaser trailers DOTM ROTF AOE TLK
This is just what I wanted to post. If this is the option for tge 2007 vote, I'll change mine. The second trailer for 2007 (the one that days 'we're under attack from a race far superior to our own etc' was also brilliant. Just a shame about the actual film. Although saying that, ALL the trailers are amazing.
Despite what you think of Bay, his movies have trailers that rock. But I remember being fine with the Bumblebee teaser for what it was, but the 2nd trailer and seeing the Cybertron scenes and Ravage ejecting, I lost it.
I would say The Last Knight actually had the best trailer, even if it wasn't my favorite as finished movie. Both Age of Extinction trailers and the final trailers for DotM and RotF were also great.
