Just curious, but was there any way to tell if a copy of MP-27 was the first run or reissue run?

    The chrome. ;)

Seriously though, I’m sure there is a way like a production number or something. I don’t know it off the top of my head, but I’m sure someone else will.

Did you buy it new from a retailer?

Not really. I bought a BIB copy from a hobby store with quite a good price. Under the packaging box, there's a serial number literally stamped on that says "L1015".

I just did a search for that number on these message boards and it looks like it’s the first production run. So, unfortunately there will probably be some chrome wear.

I’d say don’t let that stop you from enjoying and playing with Ironhide though. I was afraid to handle mine because I didn’t want to damage the chrome. It did wear down pretty easily and once I accepted that it was just going to do that, I let go of the fear and really allowed myself to fully enjoy one of the most fun Masterpiece releases.

If you have some future or clear coat you can coat the chrome and that should be enough to keep it for the most part.

So, just wondering, but for those who have Tigertron at this point, are the hip joints for the rear beast legs seem kinda... Floppy? I'm talking about the little grey pieces in that joint. I can get images later, if I'm not describing it well.

Yeah, it's a bit unfortunate. Luckily after looking around MP-27 for a bit, the chromed front and rear bumper pieces are fortunately separate parts secured on the figure via a few screws; In case if the chrome paint eventually rubs off, I don't think it would be difficult to unscrew those pieces and paint them with a new layer of chrome paint or topcoat.

(moments after this photo was taken, my Cheetor broke for good. A sad day.)

Why not ask this question in the Tigertron news or review threads? It’s already been discussed quite a bit there. The gist of it is that the joints vary in tightness between copies. Some are tighter and fine. Mine are so loose he can’t stand up in bot mode so I’m looking into getting some of that Kiki joint fixer to fix it. I normally use Future floor polish but I’m hearing that Kiki works better. Cheers!

Ugh, so the little shoulder click thingie broke really early on when I first got him. So the one shoulder never really clicked into place; which wasn't a big deal.

Then last week, the post that sticks out from his body to attach the cheetah head to broke.

    as seen here:

I was able to salvage it actually by gluing down that little piece to what was still sticking out. However, I believe it hinder the ability to compress it completely for transformation, and in fiddling with it to do so, the entire thing finally just cracked off.

Sure, I could've just removed the cheetah head for bot mode, but I really wanted to make it work, there is already too many parts that have to be removed to begin with.

Anyway.....I'm on the lookout for a new MP-34 everyone!

Changed up my G1 (-ish) display. I used to have the repair bay set up behind my Autobots, but I thought that took up a lot of space and it looked too crowded so I moved it. Also I had to put Grimlock and Silverstreak on the bad boy shelf, because there was no room. Let me know what you think!

I know Cheetahs normally have a head start on the sprinting front, but that's taking things too far ... o_O
