I would guess Feb if everything holds. I would expect to see a Mock-up similar to Primal before anything really.

I'm guessing we'll see something around Q2, or either around or slightly before Starscream's release. Whichever comes first.

Feb 9? Sometime early Feb is wonderfest . My guess 52 and 53, if its announced by December and hopefully 54 at the show.

Aw son of a bitch I forgot about Wonderfest, haha.

I'd still say it COULD be a bit of a stretch to see Raiden there, but certainly not impossible either.

Wonder what we'd also see there. I get the feeling Waspinator's gonna be the next Beast Wars MP, though for G1 i'm not so sure... Still gonna say Sideswipe 2.0 just to keep my roll going and see if I have a streak to maintain afterward, haha.

And Toy World is supposed to have one too. The wait for someone to finally show something new is killing me...

Pre-empting the inevitable complaint that the thread was bumped without actual news again, I repeat my comment from many months ago how such thread-bumping comments show just how excited many of us are to get an MP Raiden.

This. Especially since the 3rd party not MP Raiden grey prototype was revealed a week ago. Hype intensifies just what version or how detailed Takaratomy's MP Raiden will be.

I am a bit new to Raiden as a character. Saw that it was a thing from the 3p, had to wiki it. I like trains and transformers..I am in. Character seems cool, and a better foil for Predaking than Skylynx (bless his awkwardness)

Is this confirmed with the intentions of being a MP or Generations release?

"Masterpiece" is one of the few things we do know about the release we're talking about. That information was revealed what seems a lifetime ago, now (probably still at the beginning of thread, if you want to go back 100+ pages to have a look).

(EDIT: Glutton for punishment that I am, I had a look, myself. There IS a confirmation in the first post, but you'd be forgiven for not noticing, and it's worth acknowledging that this seems to be added in much later than when the first post originally went up. Here's a direct link.

For the actual confirmation, as it was originally seen in this thread, you have to go all the way in past the 400th post! Here's the post that first seems to reflect when we'd confirmed "Masterpiece" in the Japanese text. You can look both before and after that for additional evidence.)

Wow, thank you. Sorry/not sorry for asking without looking myself (lazy on my part) but wow, what a thorough and complete answer.

Now that being said, the first official MP gestalt is planned as Raiden? That is surprising, I really would have thought Devastator, but to be fair, what would be the point with so many 3p options. For long time fans of Raiden, however, the acknowledgement has to be palpable.

Yep. It is quite surprising at face value, yes, but i'd honestly chalk it up to both Raiden's popularity in Japan (as he was originally from The Headmasters) and also due to the Railway event possibly bringing what would be more of a crowd than the usual MP reveal would, due to the magnitude of it.

Also again, Masterpiece is a Japanese line first and foremost, so Raiden doesn't seem as surprising as he does to us when you look at it in that light.

Those were released, i had a set. The only one that wasn't was the snake. I was hoping we were going to get the six that were released though. I was thinking masterpiece, but good call. Since metalhawk was also released as a tiny pretender and overlord and black shadow got figures as well

Wonder if this guy will have stupid articulation like most Mps these days. Be kinda cool to have a giant combining robot that can do yoga poses

If Takaratomy isn't going to be bothered to release any new information on their alleged MP Raiden, then I'm SERIOUSLY going to consider getting the 3rd party version.. :(

I hope so. I'd be fine if the individual members will not be hyper articulated if that gives more budget to the combined form.

I’m also keen to see how a Takara Masterpiece combiner will set itself apart from other attempts. If it’s in the articulation I’m very keen to see what’s accomplished. Ab tilts perhaps? Maybe not haha.
