Yes I mentioned that Ravage's head was remolded too, not just Laserbeak's, a few weeks ago. The new head is not snarling but otherwise similar. Unless you meant Soundwave's head was retooled too?
Odd that the Siege Soundwave has the red stripes on his forearms and guns, but the new one doesn't.

There was a Lifeline repaint of Generations Arcee? I assume she was a Botcon exclusive? I don't recall that toy...
Considering we did not have a proper G1 Arcee toy for literally decades and we only really got 2 before (Generations and Titans Return) I don't mind getting a third one. It's not like this is Bumblebee or Optimus Prime and she had 20 Classics like toys already.   I got both her and Elita - well that is, I preordered Elita, Bee and Soundwave from HLJ. My US friend bought from Walmart but hearing how they often don't deliver or cancel orders, I thought better safe than sorry.

From the trailer it seems the Ark is on some alien planet, still in Cybertronian forms, and Elita and friends are still on Cybertron along with all the Decepticons. I doubt they will get to Earth other than by the time travel at the end of the season. It is ridiculous that even now that Hasbro should have given them the CAD files for Cliffjumper/Bug Byte and Elita and Bee, they could not replace those models.

Just preorder them from HLJ. They are not exclusive to Takara's shops if HLJ could get them too.

There was a retool of TR Soundwave released in the Bumblebee movie toyline with Frenzy/Rumble (the purple one), golden Buzzsaw and Howlback, which had new leg panels to have those weird non-speaker tapedeck sides. I never understood that on the G1 toy, if Soundwave is a tapedeck, where are his speakers?

 

He’s a Walkman-like, as opposed to Blaster’s boom box. His speakers would have been headphones.

 

Yeah, tape decks don’t have speakers, they just play tapes. In Soundwave’s case micro cassettes.

 

Yeah, and on top of that, G1 Soundwave is usually labeled as a Microcassette Recorder, meaning he's possibly more of a journalist's recording tool than a music player. It's not like most people listened to their music on microtapes - that was more of a dictation thing.

 

The EX number for Siege are all exclusives. I already have them or got committed supplies like Trailbraker, Allicon,Runamuck, Doublecrosser ( from BBTS is still an iffy). This wasn't the case before. Even without the beerbug, I used to count on the JP market to secure my TFs. Now, there's that "wall" they have that you need a proxy to get. There are other avenues for sure to acquire them in Japan but those are like luck of the drwa (my Quintesson judge Klementia for that matter).

 

That's a common mistake caused by the way Soundwave is depicted in media.
G1 Soundwave was never a walkman, nor was he a cassette player.

Soundwave was a stereo micro-cassette recorder intended for recording lectures or interviews.

The little vent sections on Soundwave's corners in alt mode are both microphones, each recording to separate left and right channels.

That particular device doesn't have built-in speakers, stereo playback is only achieved by jacking in headphones or external speakers.

Also, micro-cassette Transformers are actual size replicas of real micro-cassettes, not miniature representations of cassettes.

Looks good. Excited to find one whenever it’s released.

it’s so weird looking at this compared to the R.E.D. release. I’m not one of those people who hates the non transforming aspects of those figures, but putting aside the transformation on this figure and comparing just the robot modes, I don’t see how the R.E.D. figure can compare.

This one has so much better plastic, finer and crisper details, and equal if not better articulation. Plus it has the cassettes.

 

Not enough of a difference to get another. In my 40 years I\'ve never been interested in non-vehicular/non-beast alt modes. Guns, cameras, radios, I dont ever transform these kind of bots. Siege Soundwave will do just find forever.

 

Hold up, why does that Siege Soundwave have a red visor? Am I missing something?
