Could be a diaclone driver, but I don't have an Ancestrod yet to really discern whether that was the case or not. It might be something that comes down the line(If the line takes off, but we've not seen any new T-Beasts designed by them.), or a part that was canceled. I saw EMGO's review and he also made mention of the empty cockpit and I don't see anywhere in the tray for it, nor anything in this thread about it. Anyone got a Neo Diaclone driver or KO Diaclone driver and an Ancestrod to check?

edit: I think so, judging how the little feet slot in perfectly. downside is that the cockpit can't close while he's in it.

 

I think Red Bull stands out against the rest though. I was never a fan of non-vehicle TFs. I love RB though, because of how much his robot mode still resembles his MP robot mode, for the most part. The rest all look like Predacons. Im considering Ancestrod, but I dunno...not much true to Rodimus's bot mode...

 

Ancestrod looks the most 'Predaconny', but he's a great figure.

So I recently got this guy and just went to transform him today, only to find both of the forearm bits that make the lower animal legs are stuck. They will not slide down to cover the hands. Anyone had this problem?

 

So, reading of the qc issues some people had, is he worth it for $77.50 from Ali?

Ended up getting him, he's pretty cool, in both modes. Just wish he could hold his weapons better.

The shoulder and hip ratchets scare me, they are extremely uneven in how they work, tend to seize up often and generally feel like I'm grinding the plastic teeth to dust. Am I missing something? Is there some special way to move them, like pulling them apart a bit before rotating them?

Exactly. Pull them ever so slightly while rotating.

 

After hearing the DX9 news I finally bit the bullet on this guy as a farewell of sorts, and I'm glad I did. The customs guys must have thought he looked cool too cuz they let the other packages from the order slip right through but Roddy here spent a month big chillin'. I don't think there's anything to be said that you guys haven't already covered, there's a lot of jank going on with this fig but it presents itself beautifully, and I wish they had taken a stab at another T-Beast before they closed up shop.

 

I'm kind of the opposite of you. I bought it because it does look amazing, but every time I get to manipulating him, those joints make me regret everything. The knees are so weird to manipulate, and most of the ratchets make me worry about things breaking. I'm hoping that Generation Toy does a better job than this with their supposedly upcoming T-Beast Hot Rod, and I may just end up selling this one if that's the case.

 

I thought a shattered glass repaint of this was going to be a no-brainer...

 

Honestly, the figure is pretty shitty so I get why they didn't try to milk it.
