First one I’ve gotten, but he’s stellar!! He’s so much bigger than I thought it would be, especially compared to my Gundam. He’s become my definitive G1 Prime on my shelf to boot.

Could someone put G1 FT Prime next to a WFC Prime or FT IDW Prime?

The G1 Furai Optimi I ordered from GameStop back in April finally shipped. Got two for $33 total.

Did my Drift with a hybrid of paint and stickers. I had a little trouble with the lower legs staying together, but otherwise a great model kit.

So far with the Furai kits I've had, I rank them (best to worst):
    1. IDW Megatron
    2. IDW Optimus Prime
    3. IDW Drift
    4. Attack mode SG Optimus Prime
    5. Starscream

There's a wide gap in quality/enjoyability between 3 and 4. The newer kits are several degrees better.

I definitely agree. I definitely think they get worse the farther back you go. My personal ranking is:
    1. Furai Bee
    2. IDW Megatron
    3. SG Optimus
    4. Thundercracker
As you said, there is an Alaskan gap between 2. and 3.

Out of curiosity (cause I'm not home at the moment) How to get a better bend out of IDW Megs. Fully assembled, mine can barely hit a 25-degree bend.

I don't think you can. The rest of his articulation is great, but that ab crunch is pretty non-existent.

I've assembled and painted IDW Megs and Prime. Working on Thundercracker now!

Actually (I forgot to post an update that post) But I didn't realize the back of his cafs slide down, leading to a really good knee range. I'm not sad about the small ab crunch, as Furai Screamer and OP have super big crunches but are a floppy mess!
Those look really nice! Do you see the top of the back of Megatron's leg?

    That slides down.

Yeah I knew about his knees; I had a hard time painting them because there's not much clearance on the inside when it bends so it kept scraping off paint. I had assumed you were talking about his ab crunch as it's the part I wished had a deeper bend.

The bottom back of his legs (the treads) also extend so that you can get more articulation out of the ankles.

Huh, I didn't realize that, I'll have to test it when I get home. I am learning more and more about this figure!

Bluefin has Autobot Megatron on sale for $25. G1 Prime is $30. Thundercracker (or really any seeker with enough paint) is down to $19. If you’ve never done one of these yourself, this is a great way to dip your toes into the water.

Bit of a cheeky post, but I'm looking to sell my Kuro Kara Kuri Prime if anyone's looking for one! Based in UK.

Needs must! I'm having to reevaluate a lot of my collection. He's absolutely stunning, and I'm gutted to let him go, but I unfortunately have other things to prioritise. :(

I managed to snag Furai model Megatron off Bluefin for $25 plus $10 shipping. Been waiting to get it to go with furai IDW Optimus forever, and figured now would be a perfect time. Probably not going to add anything beyond some basic panel lines, but I’m excited to build him. Of course now that I bought the kit, I’m assuming Flame Toys will suddenly announce a prebuilt/prepainted version like they did with Optimus lol

Nice! I got my Megs in an insultingly cheap SDCC Bluefin 3-pack. Usually, I just paint on all the sticker decals as I think their stickers suck the chrome off a car bumper.

Sadly after nearly a year the hips on my Drift are starting to get loose to the point that if I'm not careful when posing he'll do the splits. I hope I'll manage to fix them, luckily Star Saber is still solid so dar.
I was on the verge of buying Optimus Prime and preordering Jazz, but I'm second guessing that.
