I, too, hope for 2 releases given the anniversary year. BA and Dinobot ended up on the maximal side, but can sort of balance maximal pred ranks otherwise I’d say we are way overdue for a pred.

they’ve surprised me at every turn, but Rattrap and Waspinator seem like likely next options with Rhinox right behind. I’d love Inferno or Scorponok though. At this point, Airazor and Tarantulas are the only two I wouldn’t be jump up and down excited about but they’re obviously necessary.

 

I want Inferno and Terrorsaur next year. Even though I want Rhinox the most, I think they need to throw more predacons in the mix.

 

We've gotten two releases a year for two years in a row now so I hope they keep up this pace.

I could see them doing a Pred (pleeeaaaaase be Terrorsaur or Scorponok) in summer and then Rattrap closer to the end of the year.

 

As I already mentioned in the Tigatron thread, I'd be absolutely thrilled to get Terrorsaur next. His warm reds and soft grey / charcoal colors would really stand out on a shelf, especially next to Tigatron's cool, frosty look.

It would also mean something else. Takara is committed to actually finishing a line up for once. When Black Arachnia was first revealed I was honestly afraid for the future of BW in Masterpiece.

Figured "Welp, that's it. Waspinator's next followed by Rattrap, and that's all the 'most popular' characters out of the way so Takara can make flimsy excuses as to why they'll never finish anything." I was both shocked and genuinely surprised at both Tigatron's reveal and his number, and I hope they continue surprising the fans with unexpected follow-ups. Honestly, I love Rattrap and am fairly indifferent towards Waspinator -- but either way those two fellows have had some shine one way or the other in the past 20-25 years... so maybe it's time for some of the lesser loved characters to step up and share the spotlight, hmm?

 

Sorry, Booster, I'd forgotten to come back to this until just now. I was disregarding repaints, so I was looking at releases like

• 2 Maximals (Primal and Cheetor)
• 1 Predacon-turned-Maximal (Dinobot)
• 2 Predacons (Megatron and Blackarachnia)
• 2 Maximals (Lio Convoy and Tigatron)

So, removing Dinobot from the pattern as his faction-switching is unique, we're left with 2-2-2, so it seems time for two more Predacons. It's not any sort of ironclad Pattern-With-A-Capital-P, it just seems time for at least one more Predacon (and hopefully two, pulled from the absent-from-Kingdom-at-present pool).



Oh, and before I forget, I was also taking release dates into consideration. Primal and Cheetor came out pretty close together. Then there was a long pause, then Dinobot. Then there was another long pause, then Megatron and Blackarachnia. Then another pause (somewhat shorter this time), then Lio Convoy and Tigatron. They seem to be coming in pairs, almost.

 

We need a true Predacon, not a reprogrammed protoform or a traitor. A born and bred Pred and someone Megatron can actually trust to do as they are told, more or less, to back him up on the shelf!

Looking at Terrorsaur's beast mode, there's some bulk to work with. His torso protrudes quite a bit on both the back and front side of his wings, his upper arms and neck are quite thick too. I think we need MP Dinobot levels of turning inside out for those parts.
I think the wings could also be doubled up, so in beast mode they are folded in half and can then unfold in bot mode to reveal a different coloured surface.
An MP could really benefit from a good voyager class figure coming out first because the designers really show a great deal of improvement after having more than one attempt at a design.

 

A lot of people are going to be quite shocked to see an MP Terrosaur and MP Scorponok next to each other. Their sizes are reversed according to the toys. And Dinobot and Tigatron are also larger. Man, The toys were all over the place in size inaccuracies lol

but because terrosaur is so large I bet there is a lot of origami possible. The larger the toy the more engineering, hinges and pins it can support.

 

Yeah it would literally be Tigatron compared to Cheetor in their size difference.

 

Between Kingdom, 3rd party, and a potential MP, 2021 can be the year of Scorponok. Make it happen, Takara...

 

I see... yeah I guess if you squint a bit, disregarding Supreme Comander Primal on the basis that he is a repaint, disregard Dinobot because he switched sides in episode one... basically apply a bunch of your own caveats that we have no evidence TT are considering at all you can sort of force a pattern out of all this but it seems pretty tenuous to me. I guess we'll see if it holds 'true' when the next one is announced... heh even if it doesn't I'm sure theories will be adapted to allow whatever gets announced to 'fit'.

 

Well there was that one episode where Rattrap went undercover and defected to the Preds, changing his insignia in the process so, if he’s the next release, then technically- TeChNiCaLly!- you could add him to your Pred lineup and consider that a boost to Megatron’s forces so long as you’re specifically viewing your display through the lens of Double Jeopardy’s plot.

I predict the next BW release won't be predictable.

 

Quickstrike may be the only reveal that would genuinely upset me. I hated that idiot Southern drawl he had. I was probably just self conscious, but still!

 

I just hope they hold off on beast wars 2/neo figures for a while

 

Agreed, he is the worst Beast Wars character by a 'country' mile. However he's super unlikely as he wasn't in 'Beast Wars' in Japan, he was in Beast Wars Metals. No choice would upset me but the least exciting from season 1 will always be Scorponok for me, a boring idiot with a boring goofy design who I'd feel obliged to pay for just for completions sake.

 

I hope Waspinator or Terrorsaur is next. Finally got TransArt Transmetal Optimus and finally picked up MP41 all should come in the mail at the same time as MP 50. Up to date on all the releases, finally. I just hope Jiang XingToys Tyga Eagle looks as good as TM2 Megatron. I'm very excited though in general, the cast gets ever closer to being completed.

 

I know it’s completely off the subject of this thread so sorry about that, as you spoke about the jiang xing tygaeagle, I assume we won’t be getting any 3rd party Panels this year now will we as tfcon in October has been moved to next July. The reason I ask is because we did get the 3rd party panels put online at march’s tfcon earlier this year but nothing for july’s.
