Be prepared for that gun to be 3mm rather than 5mm (and thus not holdable by most figures). Core Rattrap and Optimus both have 3mm hands, and I expect Megatron might as well.

Optimus’s rifle has a 3mm peg at the end of 5mm peg, I believe.

It was there. John Warden showed how the robot mode could use it for a shield, and that it can be removed.

I'm guessing someone has already mentioned or spotted this?

However you can see these "boxed" figures don't have any moulded bubble to hold them in place, just the twine.

First time we see Hasbro's reduced plastic packaging policy?

Optimus's gun is 5MM compatible, as is Vertebreak's weapon.

Great looking line up. My wallet is going to take a serious hit.
Loving the new packaging too. The lesser plastic in the window still shows the toy and we get larger artwork on the front.
Finally going to increase my beast wars collection

The BW figures are VERY tempting, as is RED Arcee.

A time paradox story about my two favorite eras coming together how can I say no.

Well, I did technically start in the G1 era I started with action masters, and growing up with the G2 toys I always felt like I was trying to go back and fill in the gaps of something I just came around a little bit to late to really enjoy. I still feel like this in many ways because there are still things from Japan and Euro G1 that I'm still filling in knowledge on. Like when Rotorstorm was announced a few months back, I had to refresh myself on who that was.

I was nine in 1996 when Beast Wars started and it felt like it was a Transformers show for me. I was experiencing as it happened and not something I missed out on. I will always love G1 but for me, Beast Wars just hits different because Beast Wars was my Transformers. I'm just so excited to have good version of these characters coming out, a Cheetor that doesn't have ninja stars and stilt legs or a Blackarachnia that actually pulls off both modes yes please. I can't wait to see more and I'm totally going along for the ride.

Also, anyone else thinking of getting R.E.D. Cheetor just to give Kingdom Cheetor his gut gun?

Not sure as haven't really looked into the Fossilizers in depth.

    I feel like Mercurius basically:

Well that wouldn’t be scientifically accurate. It wouldn’t be scientifically accurate at all.

Yes, I saw it in robot mode. I mean I don't recall seeing it on during tank mode, or if it was it wasn't a huge difference compared to the leaked shots of the tank mode where the shield was definitely missing. I need to rewatch to confirm though.

It looks like the shield fills in the gap underneath and the slight emptiness in the front bottom. I don't think I've seen the tank with that emptiness filled, so it isn't as big an issue having the integrated accessory in alt mode as it was for the CJ and BB figures.

...for the boxed-figure backing, yes, but there's still a plastic window up front: good eye, though...

...more beast wars flashbacks: those boxed figures were packaged the same way, but with metal twist-ties rather than elastic...

Well I feel like they're a way to introduce Bayverse style ultra detail to Generations.

But also, I like Paleorex as a Weapons pack at the very least. The Axe and the Club scream savage land. If you want to make your figures look like they've been alone in the Dino wilderness.

I think they're also a way better integrate G1 characters into this beastial environment.

That said, I'm not really feeling Vertibreak.
If he had a weapon mode I would have plunked down my preorder. I think he'll shelfwarm pretty hard. That Triceratops one in picture looks great though.

Edit:. Wow Vertebreak turns into a half decayed Dinosaur look at the art. That's wild.

So glad they're using more environmentally friendly packaging. Toy collecting is a great hobby but it's very hard on our planet. This looks like a change for the better.

I think I’m a little bit surprised (and slightly disappointed) that they didn’t mention Studio Series ‘86. In fact, it was a little odd that they didn’t make any mention of any Studio Series at all. Perhaps with Kingdom, R.E.D., Galactic Odyssey, and the Prime reissues, they didn’t want to overload us with preorders. Still, it would have at least been a little nice to have teased it. They did mention that they had plans for ‘86 movie figures for the 35th anniversary, but they said it in conjunction with revealing the Cyclonus figure implying that they were tied exclusively to Kingdom.

Studio Series will get it's due it's coming anytime between Nycc@home said to also be London Mcm so something could be there if not ( I find that unlikely ) but if not we have Nytf digital event in February since there's no in person next year at that event.

There could be a smaller convention in-between those and Hasbro could also have there own event as well again.

I originally pre-ordered Primal and Cyclonus, then later ordered Cheetor too. I don't really have a connection to the character as I haven't seen much of Beast Wars as mentioned earlier. (I have started watching it however. Found some on YouTube. Bit cheesy and on the nose, but it's aimed at kids. Certainly no worse than the G1 series, and it has promise. Just an episode in, so can't judge too much.) I just like big cats, and he's a relatively cheap figure. I may add a dab of black paint to his eyes however. I don't usually customise figures in case I mess things up but a biological looking cat should have pupils.

If he were a mech looking cat like Ravage the glarey pupilless eyes would be preferred, but it's freaky here.
