Question about images...in the thread below a user mentioned not being able to see the images I posted but then later on said they could view them. Looking into it:

    • Was able to view the images on my phone's Chrome and on both Safari and Firefox on my desktop.

    • But when using Chrome on my desktop I get a broken image icon...and what's weird is that it seems to only happen on some days and not the others?

I made sure I was logged in at all times and can't figure it out. I have seen similar behavior on other forums where the image is needing to originate from an https rather than an http, but that wouldn't explain why it works on some browsers/days and not the others. Any help appreciated.

Those images are embedded using the http:// URL, instead of https://

Most sites, this one included, have moved to displaying using https://

You can set how strict your browser is on displaying "non secure" content within secure pages.

AKA - if this page is https://www.tfw2005...... etc, and an image showing in it is using http://www.somesite....

... then depending on your browser settings, it may not load that image or any other file starting with http:// .

Most people don't ever think about this or change any browser setting. So the default may be "don't load any non secure things".

Now, why YOU see it sometimes, and other times not - possible it's due to cache. If you loaded those images somewhere or some way in the browser before, like looking at them via another website, and then load the TFW2005 page - even tho they are non secure, they show because they are in your browser's temporary memory so to speak.

Once your browser's temporary memory is flushed out, which happens every so often, they won't show. Until you look at them via another website again.

So, to avoid this - upload the files to a website which has SSL and can serve https:// versions of the URLS.

The repairmybot one in the thread mentioned - does not look to have functioning https right now.

This is my best guess anyway, there are like 40 other situations that could trigger some form of this.
