Honestly, looking at cheetor, scale would be the least of the problems. Cheetor says designed from the ground up to be a sleek, slender cheetah. Making Tigatron work with that mold while also keeping to their realistic animal philosophy would have been a feat.

I don't blame you. I'm looking at my 10th anniversary Primal and Megs (tune accurate ULTRA class remolds) and then these two. I don't see upgrades especially after seeing hollow legs on Megs. Such a deterrent.
I might have picked up Primal if they had made his upper thighs and forearm blasters red accurately instead of dark blue. As of now will wait and see.
Also, since John Warden is moving on and the other guy (forgot his name) is going to be the lead designer, I have high hopes for future Beast Wars figures (I heard he is a BIG beast wars fan). I think he is also the same guy that comes on Bobby Skullface's discussions.

I'm guessing since they're still being cautious on these new BW figures that they figured it was a safer bet to bring in only show characters since those are more recognizable than toy characters who people from back in the day are probably less likely to remember.

I hope we eventually get regular BW updates, in which we could get Polar Claw and other toy-only characters.

Actually I just went and checked and I don't think Vertebreak is actually a modulator. I think I'll pass on him, then.

EDIT: I think this is Primal's mace?

they appear to be at two different levels, Primal appears higher.

I would imagine Primal is shorter than Prime. Mainly because I think the MPs are a guide for WFC.

With that logic in mind I would guess Primal is a bulky 5-6 inches and BW Megatron is a 7-7.5 inches.

From everything I've read over the years, Japan has little interest in Season 2/3/Metals thanks to Neo being a bit of a bust prior to them getting the Transmetals. Add to that that the POTP Optimal Optimus isn't the most accurate figure (I mean, hell, it's missing one of it's modes in favor of the evolution gimmick) and it's not hard to see why it may have shelf warmed over there. I think it's a good update and fixes some issues from the original (proportions and articulation) and it may be part of the reason we are seeing BW in force now, but it's far from an excellent figure

This is a much better theory than Lioconvoy from Tigatron in my opinion, though I don't really think you could get Polar Claw's bot mode from Tigatron's

So glad they're doing Tigatron justice! I passed on the MP in anticipation of the Kingdom one. As much as I wanted the MP, mainline is more my speed (and price range) so I am hoping he turns out awesome

Amen! Hopefully Tigatron being a repaint of Cheetor is something we can leave in the 90s, and my sentiment on that holds true even if they adapt their Transmetal 1 versions despite them being the same except arms and beast/bot heads

Yep, Paleotrex's head is Primal's mace, the original was more of a one handed flail (a mace is a ball on iron on the end of a handle, flail is a ball of iron attached to a chain which is attached to a handle)

Suprised you're not getting the MP. After yesterday I decided to get out of the BW MP's myself, but I haven't been able to press the cancel button yet for Tigatron (those colors are so yummy).

Oh believe me, I want him, but $220 is a hard pill to swallow for a single figure when like $260 got me the entirety of Kingdom wave 1. It's the main reason why I don't really collect MP. The only things MP scale I have are my Ghostbusters crossover shelf and my T-beast 3p figures. Everything else is generations. I had MP Primal and Cheetor, but Dinobot and Megatron priced me out of the BW MPs, so I was estatic to hear that BW was making a comeback in Kingdom and Tigatron was getting a voyager

Hopefully! I wish that all lines be successful, G1 and BW. The more the sales the more the products for us.

Is it actually worth pre-ordering these guys or should I just wait for them to hit shelves?

If you plan on using them as armor then yeah, but I'm not personally a fan of that gimmick so to me they're nothing but partsformers.

I don't think we know for sure yet whether or not Paleotrex partsforms in his transformation. The tail obviously comes off but that's nothing new and the same happens with Cheetor. Maybe a couple other things. But it looks to me like he could feasibly transform without modulator-ing.

EDIT: His box says he transforms in 32 steps, if that's evidence either way.
