It's so weird they told us that because I don't think the sets are numbered.

Unless they're basically telling us the second set uses molds they haven't revealed otherwise.

Looking at the packaging, I don't think there is plastic in the box. I think they are all strapped on cards.

Good, they don’t need those plastic shells holding everything anymore

Thurst showed up in Target computer systems listing so Thurst should be a Target exclusive.

    The Pants Report!!
(maybe I should team up with @Shattered Trousers for a podcast! :lolol )

    New Kingdom:
Wow, did we only get three reveals that weren't spoiled either by "preview" reviewers or Hasbro itself?

Optimus Primal - looks great, maybe not as great as I was hoping?? Proportions look a touch stocky (his robot head seems oversized), I think I was hoping for something a little more dynamic there, but he still looks good. The sculpted fur looks next level, and all his robot details look great

I think my biggest beef with him is that he doesn't really appear to do anything different then the already excellent original Ultra class mold from 96. also seems a tad small for a voyager. and the weird furry loincloth in beast mode is kinda off.
    Grade: B+

    Core Optimus Prime:
looks solid for the scale. Nice that the included his Ion cannon; interestingly, looks like he's holding it by a 3mm peg that's on the bottom of a 5mm peg, so other Legends/Deluxes should be able to hold it. (kind of annoying this guy gets a properly scaled ion cannon while Leader Prime gets either his Chibi included one or the ridiculously oversized one with Centurion.)

there's somer weirdness with the proportions of his chest and whatever's going on with his waist flaps

Fossilizers: I just don't really have a comment on. They look fine, and they look well sculpted! I'm really glad Hasbro is trying new things/concepts/characters, but these are completely unappealing/interesting to me.

    Kingdom seen before:
Megatron: looks epic. although was he ever this colorful before? the clear winner of the day. Grade: A- (a few niggles keep him away from a pure A)

Ratrap: honestly still my favorite of wave 1, aside from the weird naked feet in robot mode. He's got so much character! Grade: A-

    Cheetor:
Solid if unremarkable. Great looking beat mode, ok bot mode, hate the missing pupils on the cheetah head. If I cared about the character I'd consider getting him, but I don't, and he's surely not worth $23: Grade C

Warpath: Tank is an improvement over Generations, but bot mode is not. Not feeling this guy, and the white/light grey looks bad. Way to many visible hollows for $23. Grade C-

Cyclonus. I really can't believe how bad this looks. Clunky, chunky proportions in both modes, squared off, blocky flat chest, waist & lower legs, lack of sculpted detailing, long stretched out head, TERRIBLE face sculpt bland deco. He looks incredibly dated before even coming out and doesn't seem to fit in with any of the other figures in this trilogy aesthetically (or with SS86 Hot Rod and Scourge) Grade D-

    Kingdom poster:
Love that it seems to be hearkening back to the G1 back of box art, but really weird that it's not the same style as the Siege/Earthrise posters and promotional art. Honestly, it sort of has an unfinished look to it: well done, but like the color artist was only getting started.

I'd assume we shouldn't take many of the detail on here as Gospel, since Wheeljack has his G1 body instead of his Earthrise block-block-blocky body, but cool to see Gears and Polar Claw on here, even if they may have been scrapped from the line. (maybe they show up as exclusives???)

The Ark/Last Autobot looks potentially freaking epic though. Galvatron and Tracks look nice, but will they actually look like that?

Anyone else (I didn't see it mentioned) notice Soundwave peaking on there above Polar Claw?

    Kingdom packaging:
Love the design, love the alt modes up front, love the style of the paintings and the big character portraits.
Don't love the tiny window that feels like it's probably trying to hide how small some of these guys are in the box. (look at how ridiculous ER Cliffjumper looks floating in his deluxe box)

Edit: just saw the in-box images: look at how small Primal and Black Arachnia look inside those windows...

    Prime 10th:
this is a sweet deal, but man, could we get a FE Prime and Bulkhead reissue??

I'm passing on these, just because I never got into Prime (I checked out after the FE fiasco, and din't really have room/time/energy to follow up with it) but think it's great Hasbro's acknowledging past lines like this.

Megatron: great looking robot. forgot how embarrassingly bad his alt mode is. I mean, wow. what even is it? It looks like Cybertron Megatron and BW Depthcharge had an illegitimate mutant baby. Chrome details look rad.

Very cool they are including some of the Arms Microns: those never got any sort of official release outside Japan did they? (I have a vague memory maybe 1 came in some sort of multi-pack or something?)

Breakdown/Vehicon: Awesome release, nothing much too add. Very cool on Hasbro releasing those desirable, impossible to find molds. Grade: A

    Galactic Odyssey:
Cool??? not what I was expecting from this subline, but I'll take those 2 however I can get them.
was hoping G.O. would stick with some more interesting obscurities... these guys feel like they were probably earmarked for a different exclusive release and got shoe-horned in here. (Edit: I think the product page skipping all the stylized photography and shot of the box supports this even more) Grade: B, I guess?

    Earthrise:
    Bluestreak??? :tumbleweed:
    Grade: F

Preview for Earthrise on Netflix was well done, but I'm going to need to see a big improvement. If we could get it to "competent" I'd probably be decently happy, but with how they drug out the story in Siege I'm leery of the idea of them trying to stop off at a bunch of different planets - can they tell a good story with a new local every episode? The way Prime said "the mercenary faction" was super-cringe.
Grade: C+ (for the trailer in a vacuum)

    Hall of Fame:
Berger and Skylynx seem like big "duhs" but I just can't believe the Knock Out vote. it's hard for me to imagine a character actually LESS worthy of inclusion in the TF Hall of Fame. He's barely a foot note character in a series that's generally barely remembered as part of the franchise (and I liked Prime, but it's kind of a weird no man's land surrounded by the UT, Bayverse, full on Generations G1 revival, RiD'15/Cyberverse)

    RED:
Prime Arcee. Meh. I think the transforming toys look better, this seems just as bland and boring as the first wave. Grade: F what is the point of this line aga...

    HOLY CRAP THAT CHEETOR!!!!

Now THAT is something that actually grabs my attention. Still not interested in 6" non-transforming Transformers, but if you are going to make them, why not take the opportunity to take advantage of the fact the don't have to transform and actually make them look BETTER then their transforming brethren instead of making them look a fair amount worse. The sculpting on these should be absolutely top notch, No one would have looked at wave one done at this level of fidelity and said "you know, I really wish these were detailless like cheap 80s 2D animation".

(honestly I wish Kingdom Cheetor mapped closer to this model)
    Grade: B (sculpt is a total A, but it's still a non-transforming Transformer)

Now, here is something that I find quite suspicious. Vertebreak looks like a Fossilizer, yet he doesn't have a Weapon Mode on the Back. Doesn't appear if the Core Fossilizers will be a thing.

Have they given any reason to join Pulse Premium besides free shipping? I know they said more would be announced. This would have seemed to be the ideal time to make the announcement. If I’m dropping a steaming pile of cash on them in 15 minutes it’d be nice to know if I should add Premium to the order.

Who else shares my suspicions? Vertebreak doesn't seem to have a Weapon Mode. Makes me think he might not even be a Fossilizer.
Seriously look at the packaging when compared to his wave-mate, Paleotrex.

I am so fucking hyped for this line guys. The only Beast Wars figures I ever had were the T30 ones and the blue Terrorsaur from AoE, and now we're getting almost certainly the full season 1 cast. I'm gonna cry.

Knockout was as beloved by fans similar to many other. Him being the prime character to win makes at least a quarter of fans happy.
