Yeah, I can't believe the only thing they revealed for Plasma Series was Ecto-1. I'm guessing the movie getting pushed back screwed up their plans this year.
Overall disappointed. An ecto reveal and a toy gun thing. I guess with how bad plasma series is pegwarming and the fact that the sdcc exclusive never sold out much less went back for preorder that the line might not last. That is a shame as I was hoping theyd eventually dip back to real ghostbusters or further movie figures.
Considering they put PO's for the wand up in Feburary, for a September release, they could've done more.
The Plasma Series figs all got clearanced out for $10 at my local Wally then shortly after their reset they got an endcap but went back up to retail. The pegs are loaded and the rest went in back collecting dust.
An Ecto-1... Well, I wanted an Ecto-1...though would have preferred the original film version... Also, how much is it gonna cost I wonder. Otherwise...what was the point of that panel!? I mean a proton wand, and retro foam gun, and an Ecto-1 is all that is shown?? Why not more retro Kenner Ghostbusters stuff? Or Real Ghostbusters figures in the Plasma line? This could have just been one of those "Fan First" day events really.
I'd start at $79.99. Yes... Massive waste of time. Felt like I was watching some Cnet Tech dork panel.
Most likely given the general cost of other 6" scaled vehicles from Hasbro. *looks over at Star Wars Black Series*
$120 for a hollow plastic vehicle, then. Im actually pretty disappointed in the wand sounds. Hopefully, they arent terrible here.
GhostBusters hasn’t been in the public eye (the movies or a cartoon) for what 25 years (not counting that awful all girl reboot that never happened)? Kids and n the Eighties would have wanted these but almost no kid and even most adults don’t have a itch for ghostbusters anymore.
Yeah I was also curious to the price of that Ecto. They list it as Plasma Series but no mention of the figures would fit. I remember back when Mattel was trying to get the Ecto made. I think it was $250 but it wasn't done for a retail line, just a small figure subscription service.
There's an itch. That itch will be activated by Afterlife. Never forget, 'nerd culture' is thing. Like that Pulse-con host lady. OMG so nerdy!
Yeah but two movies and two cartoon from the eighties and ninties isn’t exactly like the entire universes of Star Wars and Star Trek. Maybe a new movie will kickstart a new generation of Ghost Busters fans, but I’m not really optimistic about it.
Definitely not. The first trailer turned me off. Didnt feel like Ghostbusters. But, that might be a good thing after the 2016 fiasco, marketing wise.
