Glad to be getting the Cobra infantry, but I would have liked at least one of the Target Troopers to go with them. Vipers look great, super excited about being able to procure 0 of them.
This is my take. Hasbro needs to break contract with Target regarding CI exclusives. Preorders should be limited to Hasbro Pulse only. No Joes should be subjected to online sells by distribution contract. As much as I hate GameStop, they may be the only retail outlet who would and could sell me a joe if i asked. When I go to Target and ask for a Joe, its a mixed bag sometimes resulting in personal mockery on the part of the employee. It’s not an enjoyable experience. All distribution should be evenly divided amongst smaller retail outlets like a GameStop. Also distribution should be prioritized to the North American US market. We should not have to buy our Joes from Canada and Taiwan.... Im sure in a few hours ill be able to load 16 vipers in my cart without Target giving two hoots.
And yet regular collectors will still take it in the shorts thanks to scalpers scooping up all the inventory for themselves. The figures will have a street date and somehow be sold out before the first guy sets foot inside the store. Strike two Hasbro. Fuck you.

I have no doubt that the Target preorder at 5pm will be a shitshow. I’ll try, but I’ll plan on getting these when they hit stores.
So The Viper and Firefly are labeled as Cobra Island. I'd bet a shiny Quarter that there is a third figure in the wave and it'll be a repack of Beachhead or the Trooper. Just a guess. Part of me also thinks this second wave will be over ordered due to the 1st waves popularity and we'll be looking for wave 3 and 4 of the main line and still dealing with these on the pegs.
I cant believe the balls of this dude. I did the stupid thing and bought a couple of Baroness figures from eBay cause a seller was putting them out there for "only" just over 100% markup each. I bought two cause I'm hooking up my bro. Paid my money, I get a notice they're shipping, and this asshole has the fucking NERVE to message me and cry about eBay only charging shipping for one figure instead of two. A. Like I'm supposed to believe that $10 doesn't cover both units. B. Motherfucker is making $100 profit off of being a piece of shit in the first place. FUCK that guy.
It’s crazy I saw Zartan and he’s practically perfect. Maybe a color-change feature could make it better? But really he’s Destro level good. And then I see Firefly and I want to punch someone. Then I see Target Exclusive on everything... Toys R Us going bankrupt is a fucking tragedy. Walmart and Target deserve to get beaten to death for the way they handle toys.
Noob seller. UPS ground is probably the cheapest for Baroness, the size box required for two will cost between $13 and $23 depending upon the distance in the US. I know because I shipped one with a red ninja in a double sized box, twice.
Surprised and disappointed at no reveals for Alley Viper or Storm Shadow. I will be POing Zartan and Cobra Trooper. Firefly is a maybe. Sculpt looks great but not digging the vest. The 30th Firefly still has the crown IMO.
That actually pisses me off more, because if I DO get the Infantry it'll just be a reminder that i COULDNT get the Troopers. "Remember those figures we made impossible to get? Here's the redeco that comes with less stuff!" Suck a cock Hasbro.
Good news is with the Target Cobra Trooper coming to the mainline albeit with a slightly different deco and fewer accessories I have hope that the Viper will also be released later on the same way. I can’t see hasbro not reusing the same figures at least a couple times as simple recolors.
Yeah, Zartan and Viper look especially good. Trooper is a good consolation but the assfucks at Hasbro got the weapons wrong. If it was only coming with one rifle, it should have been the longer one. The short rifle looks like a mangled ass plug. Not really but I had to keep the theme going and it looks like shit.
So even though I preordered Zartan and Cobra Infantry yesterday, we'll probably get Amazon links today don't you think?
It's not that the recolor is good or bad, better or worse... it's the willful blindness being demonstrated by Hasbro and their inability to respond appropriately to the circumstances. They're showing that they don't care about their fan base. They'll issue a store exclusive with no oversight or control to make sure distribution is smooth, and when said distribution turns into a debacle, they move ahead with a watered-down version of the very figure a significant portion of their dedicated fans were JUST shafted on acquiring.
In truth how much of that is hasbro vs target though. I mean i am sure the hasbro team said we have x amount that absolutely need to be ordered to make a production run but you can order as much of this as you desire. Target is who probably said i will take the minimum required amount given no current media tie in and no current proven 6" fan base for this line. I mean no doubt cobra island is a crap debacle but I dont put the majority of it on hasbro. Target under ordered because it was an unproven seller. I mean look at ghostbusters plasma right now. That stuff is pegwarming everywhere. They over ordered that mess. Is that hasbros fault that the items are shelf sitting and clogging shelves? No, they offer the item and the chain is who decides how much to order.
