Beautiful as expected! Note the head appears to be sitting between the intakes in the large bot mode pic? Maybe they slide forward as an option!

 

So essentially Starscream is all there underneath and we fold up the unwanted alt-mode on his back/inside his legs? Alt-mode looks nice enough I guess, face sculpt looks good.. I do really like how this is shaping up but the lack of a waist swivel and the positioning of the air intakes/shoulder pylons do really bug me. Of course I'd like him to feature a bit more visual interest/moulded details in robot mode here and there but that ship sailed a long time ago. To be totally honest, gripes aside, I am tentatively excited by this release... I guess it's gonna come down to price, any more than 35000 yen and I'm probably out.

Oh yeah... interesting. It's a shame there almost zero clearance. Maybe why they set them so far back I guess.

Jetmode (to me) is definitely a big step backwards compared to MP-11 and especially MP-3. With those two the jet was believable and the cleanest possible jet (virtually no robot kibble), but here we can clearly see the robot underneath. The jet appears to me very much like a robot with some jet pieces stuck on to it: the chest seems fully formed and even the legs seem to be pretty much formed. The connection of the nose piece to what appears to be the fake cockpit, is something I expect on a CHUG figure.

But the robotmode is where this shines. And for what they want to do -- hyper articulation with cartoon accuracy -- this is an amazing achievement.

Still not sure about purchase since I like details on my figures and the G1 toy is so ingrained in my brain that I miss the shin thrusters and even the tailfins, but definitely still interested.

Well put and exactly where I stand in this and most G1 MPs these days. Starscream however is one of those 'must have' characters for me, much like Megatron was when MP-36 came out, and like MP-36 this looks like the best option... even if it's not the perfect option.

But yeah, at this point, I firmly believe Starscream is gonna be a return to form for Takara after a rocky last year with Prime's knees, Bee's back and Hound's utter destruction.

 

Also, for the first time G1 Ss is ditching the chest turbines Studio Ox established. Was it too costly? Would there be an option to open them?

Will there be the clusterbomb rack like the previous MP?

Will it have the coronation set? Can we use the coronation set from the previous?

Will he come with a Megatron gun?

Finally his fingers got pins to keep them in place!

Multiple heads or detachable faces?

MP44 head compatible?

Or will he come with the "what's left of me after Galvatron congratulated me post coronation" just his feet.

Will he come with Dr. Archevile?

 

Love what I’m seeing , but still confused as to why , WHY , does he need to have the radar in the nose cone ? Cool feature yes , but , was that even shown in the show ? Dam age can’t remember anything anymore .
