Went from not wanting the child at all to really wanting it. Also I love how pretty much every LEGO Star Wars reviewer at this point gets all of these sets for free. Like LEGO didn't pay me for this review but sent me $1000 of LEGO sets for free.
Recently found this Speed Champions Nissan GT-R for $8 @ my Target as it was on clearance bc the box looked as if it was stepped on 100 times lol. Overall this was a very fun build (took me 2hrs lol) and I highly recommend this set. Also the GT-R has a wider body/stance and looks much nicer than the McLaren they recently released which is a bummer IMO. The trio so far. And next to a "Wish app" GT-R knockoff. I totally thought it was a direct copy of the Official but NOPE.! Cheers!
They don't match in size because of the shift from 6 studs wide to 8 studs that began this year. The Mclaren is a set from last year.
Yeah, I'm sort of bummed about that because the McLaren Senna is so nice looking, but it doesn't match to the even further improved 8-stud line revision from this year. On that subject, when's the next batch of these due, anyways? Speed Champions is pretty much the only thing I'm buying nowadays, with the Star Wars well largely tapped out of anything I'm interested in at all, and the Superhero lines being in something of a holding pattern. In some ways, that's good, since it means I can actually save for the Lamborghini Sian, but I'm starting to get the itch to build again (and I'm not quite ready to tap into my "rainy day" kit backlog, yet).
Ah, I thought they were twice a year. Hadn't really paid attention to them much until last year's series. Sort of a bummer. I guess it takes time and resources to get the licensing lined up, so they probably can't churn them out rapidly.
I'm actually planning to get that as well @wilcosu35. Are you going to do the mods that has been mentioned on Eurobricks in regards to the gaps between the two engines and the main cab?
I have that train waiting to be built.. definitely stands out and was sold after researching the history of it.
All aboard the Chocodile Express. Sorry its coloring reminds me of chocolate, is all. This looks cool and if I was more of a train head, I'd get it but lack of display space keeps me from picking up more train sets. The only trains I have at the moment are the Cargo Train and Hogwarts Express. I keep hoping Lego will make a decent Japanese shinkansen bullet train set one of these days. I'd buy that in a heartbeat as I enjoy riding the real thing when I get the chance. Brickmania.com is offering third party train wheels and rails that curve much more gently than the official Lego rails, so they match more closely to real life rail systems.
I don't blame you on that one.. The OG version was in made in green and red as well. Pic taken from Swiss Railways Facebook page.
I'd love it if they made the original Shinkansen that I always wanted to ride on as a kid. I hope you with the crocodile engine will post photos of it. As much as I want it, being a big train kid, I am really trying my best to not buy everything I want. *Looks over at the closet with the Batmobile, Lamborghini, and other random kits.*
I might, but only if there are clear instructions and parts lists for that. I'm not usually into modifying my sets.
Really thinking about getting the Razor Crest. What's the build like? Anything particular interesting or creative?
