I can't allow myself to get too annoyed about the trailer

 

I'm thinking FT will give people a Sweeps set also... maybe... I might buy 4x FT Scourge when the time comes. Plus it's not just the Trailer that's annoyed me. The Egg price. The drawing out of the combiner photos. The Reissue prices on Hoist and Trailbreaker (which I didn't pay either). Also this new swarm set is more expensive than the first run. And they've said something on their channels and not delivered multiple times. It's just poor. Anyway, I'm £300 better off and I can easily pay my balance for Thomas when asked with the money I saved there....



In the battle of the best 44 I wonder who it will be? MP44 or FT44? I'm going FT44 myself...

 

I think the real battle is, will XTB put out one new product in the calendar year of 2020. It's looking like no, The Egg is January right? Or maybe it's December

 

Egg is DOA. I have a hard time believing someone justifying that price when the official is 1/6 of the price. Yeah, they are not painted as good, but it is a gd Quintesson. Unless one is a hardcore, QT fan (those exist?) just get hasbro's and move on. Insane what XTB is charhing on those.

 

That would actually be quite funny. I lost all interest in the Egg the moment I saw the price so I’m not keeping tabs on it’s release date. I’m hoping it’ll be warming shelves until this time next year when it’ll be in a Black Friday sale.

I’m trying not to get too hyped for Astrotrain but it looks absolutely stunning.

It may not be just you. I’m checking my orders with them and it’s the same deal. I know I preordered. I went back and forth all day until my preferred retailers sold out. TFS was the last one where he was available. Definitely preordered.

 

I'm aware that they don't send review samples but that hasn't stopped people from getting samples and videos on the internet. Usually it chinese review.

 

They are not samples. they are actual copies Chinese people buy (or steal?).

FT does no longer do samples or freebies to reviewers.

 

Totally understandable. I myself am taking the $30 extra dive for Hoist. I was on Trailbreaker but then FT came out with the new redesign, and I cancelled my original deposit with ShowZ on him since I wasn't sure on which between FT's and XTB's was gonna fare better. Hoist though I have a feeling we won't see for a long time, and XTB's actually looks really cool, haha. The trailer (and hopefully a Gravestone reissue, should I not be able to catch him from TFSource, the only ones who still have him in stock) i'll end up getting anyway, since i'm adamant on getting Gravestone as a standalone to complement my Fans Toys set, and Dr. Egg i'll look into if he drops in price, or if I just say "fuck it" and pay the $180 because I sometimes just do things for little to no reason, haha. I'm spontaneous like that.


I myself was only gonna get Andras if I was gonna do anything with Scourge and/or the Sweeps. The accessories don't do enough to warrant the high cost of entry on an extra 3 recolored Scourges. Scourge is, to me, one of the less interesting bots anyway, so I don't have much of an attachment to him. I'm keeping an eye at least on Andras due to my large amount of stuff I have on order for the year, but he is FAR from high priority.

But back on Astrotrain, easily one of if not my most hyped figures of the year.

MMC Chromedome is a hard one to outright beat out, for me.

Either way, i'm just waiting for TFSource to play the metaphorical railway conductor and give me the go ahead. I got the feeling the hype i'll be feeling once I get that in stock email will probably end up being of the same amount of hype as I did with every goddamn Smash DLC announcement.

Are you sure you are not mistaking FT for TT?

We have a celebrated thief in this forum who takes pride in his ability to gain "early access" to new TT MP products.

 

Personally I wonder if COVID has done damage in personnel that Xtransbots used. Either that or the factory has other priorities. I also wonder if Fanstoys is producing less product these days, as Sheridan & Thomas preorders went really quick.

I'm just saying that we usually see something before a release, I'm suprised we haven't seen anything for thomas assuming it is so close to release.

 

Someone has mentioned this already. It's been a long time since FT has given out samples. Also nowadays Western retailers would often receive their stock earlier than Chinese retailers. The past is not always a predictor of the future. The past 3 or 4 releases (or even more), we always got the first pictures the day Western retailers start shipping their stock out.

 

No one knew about roadkings backpack or spoilers turn and disappear trick until release bc there were no early reviews

 

I won't mind backpacks or thin parts, just hoping for no catastrophic breaks! I am wondering if they have the shuttle boosters on the back though.
