Breathtakingly beautiful. And by Thanksgiving we'll see pics of Kingdom Tigatron, which will be just as good and cost $30.
So far I've found ever kingdom figure to be amazing for the price, but none actually as good as the masterpiece. And yes, that includes blackarachnia for me.
That has got to be THE panel-iest, hinge-iest, fold-iest transformation I’ve ever seen. Not saying that’s a bad thing but Jesus. Wonder if the Kingdom voyager will take any inspiration from the MP’s engineering but simplified. I love that the gut-gun isn’t needed for the alt mode, so essentially it’s completely non-partsforming.
Finally got a chance to sit down and watch the transformation video. Surprised how much of him I was actually right about, looking back. A couple of sneaky panels that I didn't account for, but I had most of the big points. He doesn't look to be too bad, in terms of complexity. No worse than Megatron. One of those where it might take a time or two to really get a feel for it, but then it's easy. And the end product is so very worth it. All these new pics have me absolutely salivating. Hopefully The Chosen Prime is shipping mine in the immediate future, because I can't wait to get my hands on this guy.
After all the problems experienced with both Hound and BW Megatron, I damn near swore off official Takara MP figures at the end of last year. But seeing all these in-hand pics, I just *had* to go and order me up a CHONKY KITTEH. Fair bet that even non-collectors would consider this a truly impressive display piece in either mode. My wants rarely align with the majority, but I feel like Terrorsaur's vibrant reds and flat greys would simply look amazing next to good old stripes here; hope he's next or at least in consideration for the BW release next year.
Oh wow, surprisingly (to me at least since I haven't been following this too closely) a very different transformation from Cheetor. I honestly thought it was just an upscaled retool of Cheetor and the high price put me off but now I may have to try and track him down since he was one of my favourite Beast Wars characters from the little bit that I watched growing up.
Amazon Japan, ordered day one so enjoyed all the discounts etc, may even get more back later if the fees arent as high Your assumption was right haha I'm in AB by the way, so yes lower taxes
Wait, what was wrong with BW Megatron? I remember their were some pre-release copies with cracked pelvises, but when he came out few of any still had that issue.
Yeah, I'm pretty sure it was just the (incredibly rare, by seeming accounts) cracked pelvis issue that must have scared him off.
Firstly, I thought the cost was entirely too high but that's another bugbear; the figure looked gorgeous so I bought it anyway from AJP since I'd already committed to the first three Maximals in MP form. When it arrived I simply didn't have time to open and enjoy it at delivery, so I set it aside for a few weeks; cut to almost a month later and I start hearing about the cracked pelvis issue so I decide to finally cut the tape and take a look. Lifting the figure out of the protective clam-shell, I could hear some audible rattling -- literally started the first portion of the transformation and a pair of the "teeth" the T-rex shell uses to keep Megs together in beast mode had apparently broken off during production and were moving around inside. No damage to the outer box, the inner bubble, nothing... just broken. Because of the (imo at the time) crazy price and irritation at the tiniest of parts falling off out of the package, I tried to get a return going and didn't get very far. (This was before I had the full knowledge of how to ensure a proper return to AJP -- also known as pre-Hound; they *insisted* to only use official DHL shipping couriers to return any defective item on the return page.) The only DHL supported shipping store locally wanted nearly the full cost of the figure for their return rate! After all that I kept BW Megatron boxed and untouched until just recently. He's been sitting in beast mode for a good while now. Between this and Hound... yeah. Tigatron looks crazy good, though -- so I'm hoping he's a little more like Primal and a little less like ol purple face from my utterly frustrating experience!
I mean, that sucks for sure, but that’s just a shitty fluke. Overall the quality of Megatron was fantastic. Seeing Megs mentioned in the same breath as Hound, who is a QC nightmare, made me think the two were being equated as the same quality.
AJ shipped mine. It has an ETA of 10/3. Going by previous MP figures I've gotten, I'd expect him to arrive by 9/30 at the latest. DHL is good.
