I'd love to have it, but...not in this current volatile climate. 2020 is soooooo not the year for this one. oh wait... *sees 2021* YEAH!!! IT'S MUTHA-FUKKIN MEGATRON BIATCHES!!!
Heh I was thinking the same thing, there seems to be a lot of posters unaware the mass gun ownership and the resulting gun crime and misunderstandings around replicas are not so much of an issue outside of the US. I believe the public ownership of handguns is completely banned in Japan and gun control is very tight... sensible folk. As for the product itself, heh it's nice novelty but I've never been much for Megatron's gun mode.
I think you may be overreacting a bit mate but given how it's a toy gun and how common pearl-clutching is in 'Murica these days I'm not surprised to see all the concern and worrying about a toy. Also yes I'm well aware of the laws so you don't need to remind me, that doesn't change the fact that all this hysteria is based around a neat toy of a gun. A downvote option would be a bad idea in general because likes don't mean a comment is correct, substantive or well-constructed and theoretical dislikes don't mean a comment is wrong, poor in quality or etc. I don't even think Likes serve any good purpose except provide little endorphin nuggets. The guy is annoyed that Megatron can't be released as a gun without some absurd marker placed on him. I can understand where he's coming from and this doesn't feel like something worth 'downvoting'.
I mean, I said that in jest. But until they invent an internet protocol that allows you to smack someone upside the head through an ethernet connection, sometimes it feels like it'd be nice to be able to send a clear signal to someone that they're being a dingus.
Japanese company makes a toy water gun to sell to collectors in Japan based on 80s nostalgia. A very vocal minority of people living outside of Japan who happen to be collectors in the same franchise get outraged in a matter that has nothing to do with them.
I didn't mean "here" obviously. First of all, I'm from Peru. Second, I meant as a Japanese exclusive so I can import it.
I was gonna buy this, but that's just too damn much money for a hollow water pistol. I already have a 1:1 Walther P-38 airgun and it just sits in my closet collecting dust.
"It is a very fun-like item that you can reproduce one of the most famous scenes in the Transformer series, which was once the commander of Optimus Prime holding it in that form and shooting at Megatron." Yeah remember that scene where Optimus used Megatron to shoot at Megatron?
Those too young to remember should look up Entertech water guns from the 1980s. Gen X childhoods > your childhood
People in urban parts of the US are very frightened of firearms and sometimes privately owned automobiles. That fear can make them irrational. Interesting that we haven't had a full-on revolt about the price like we usually do any time something costs more than two bottle caps and an expired coupon.
wow, great idea...how soon till a Galvatron water-gun now? one of those things that will never be sold legally in the States though as-is
Even an orange safety plug wouldn't save this thing in the US. It'd have to be dayglo orange then some. Takara could probably do it in Japan, but it'll never happen again in the US.
Lol, spoken like Rush Limbaugh. "Urban people" aren't frightened of guns, but many of them are frightened of lunatics getting their hands on guns, like the lunatic who murdered 20 First Graders at Sandy Hook Elementary. Keep your politics to your Grandma's Facebook.
