My guess is it would have to do with how good Nicee's sales are. Also they have a ton of other things they are trying to get produced and get out atm. The Henshin girls, and the new Bird/Binary line of stuff. all while also working on the 4 or 5 Anime shows. Tenxing has got his hands full.

But fret not, Big firebird isn't some tiny company. They have a pretty decent sized team under their employ atm. Remember this is in essence two companies under one banner "Big Firbird" there's Big Firebird Toy and Big Firebird Cultural Media Co. LTD. both ran by Tanxing Wei. oh and now they have something called Big Firebird Build which I believe will be producing Model Kits. (just a guess)

 

This is one of the better head sculpts that I've seen for Arcee and thank you for making an STL file available! Out of curiosity, do you model the organic shapes like the face in a separate program or is there one particular software package that models organic and non-organic shapes well?

You're currently viewing the model in ZBrush. Honestly, ZBrush can do absolutely anything and everything, from organic modeling to hard-surface modeling. That said, I started basic shapes in 3DS Max and brought it over to ZBrush for the high resolution details.

 

I live in the UK and I'm on board for a fully-made one, shipping costs be damned.

 

@Zyros I actually own 2 NICEE btw. (Sorry, just referring to the Librarian head thing. heh)  

Also, I reeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeally love that final version of that visor you made. It's absolutely perfect like that. It's great!   I'm already imagining a Tranlucent blue Visor (assuming you can match the color of the windshield or Translucent Red Visor now (or both) Really hoping you're able to make the Visor and Brow one piece so it can be Translucent. *crosses fingers*

As for which head shape is more preferred, well... that's a little hard to say since we don't see what they look like on the NICEE toy itself.

With the toy being so hyper stylized, I want a head that also matches said style. so I guess we'll see when all is said and done which looks better. it's all personal preference in the end right?

Didn't mean to say it wasn't the easiest or best way. Just meant that it wouldn't be easy. Cutting the lenses to shape/size shouldn't be too tough but will require at least some precision. Curving them at that size will be a little trickier.

That looks fantastic! As far as which is better, the difference is subtle but I think I prefer the one on the right. I really like your visor too though, personally, I would prefer if it didn't cling so tightly to the sides of her nose but angled away slightly. But that's just me.

Looking forward to that stl. Also looking forward to my Nicee arriving.

 

I got her in today. Great product. A few of my notes:

Paint: The paint on the pictures look ugly. In person though the paint job is top notch. The faded pink metallic works really well. The white is pearl metallic similar to FT Phoenix X.
Poseable/Playability: Top notch possing. She is pretty steady too when you find the balance her heels support. She is light enough to fit on a obitsu flight stand as well.
Scale: She scales really well with my flame toys K3 line.
Build: She is solidly built all around. No loose joints, great materials. She doesn't feel cheap.

I like her more than I thought I would and can't help changing out her pose every few hours. I think the photos and videos don't do her justice. Seriously, pick her up before she becomes scarce because I think she will be a popular one.

I think it's bad that some online stores that sell Nicee are still using the photos that show the Leia hair bun helmet design.

I myself totally understand that the photos are not always what the actual product looks like, but other people that don't know better will be especially pissed off.

 

I do have to agree. A ton of these folks just posted all of them way too prematurely back when it was first revealed. It's a shame.

Heck not sure if you've seen the beautiful photos from IAMNOFIRE from weibo. Show-Z Store is already using them. lol

There's just so many awesome images of her there's no reason not to update the listings with more current images now.

A scabbard for her sword sounds cool. As for additional accessories to be potentially modeled:

— a left hand that could hold the sword and pistol
— a rifle

 

Somehow, a close hand or a closed sword hand. I want to get some cool action pose with Nicee.
