So someone messaged me on instagram a while back saying that they just steal the work of other 3D artists and sell it as their own. They sent me some screenshots of some Chinese website with a bunch of 3D models. I'm not sure what to believe...
Very possible unfortunately, as far as I know there are quite a few sites like Turbosquid out there if you know where to look. But unless I see evidence for myself I can't say for sure one way or another, but it sounds possible. Just looking up "Transformers" on Turbosquid will give you stuff like this for sale: They'll even just rip models from games and put them up there, for sale.
Interesting, but the ones the person claimed inside3dedu was stealing were perfectly accurate to the movies, like the ones previously posted.
I don't know if I believe that's true, isn't this the people that started that fan-film Key to Vector Sigma from like 10 years ago that never took off but had high quality CGI? That was the page I followed on social media and then one day it changed its name to this one. They've been doing this for a while. The art type and quality is too consistent for these to just be stolen from other artists.
Who is this Instagram person? Honestly they seem too consistent to be stolen from multiple artists over and over again. I can't see them being stolen directly from the Bay films either. They're detailed but you can also see they're simplified down, missing alot of the intricate parts the Bay films had.
Just some guy who had never contacted me before. I’m not saying it’s true just wanted to mention that it happened in case anyone else had heard that.
Huh. I just realized that Sideways has two completely different head designs. Sideways' head design for his toys uses Josh Nizzi's concept art. It was also used for his design when he was initially a Lambo However, in the film, the video game, and the ride, his head seems to share similarities with Barricade.
Car shatter, scrapmetal, both dropkicks, bbm bumblebee, and im sure some more would like to argue they feel like they are in the wrong toyline if that's the case
Well obviously they're still symptoms of being based on concept art (didn't think I had to specify, but here we are), but even in the same toyline we have more accurate versions of half of those already. VW Bee is the only real casualty of this. So let me clarify that 95% of the line is accurate
Also soundwave is not accurate at all, but thats not a conversation to have here, but coming back to the topic, more reasons to want to see more than just the collar and head of soundwave, because those renders look simply amazing
Hell yes!! Thank You for making these. Will you make the rest of the team? And any plans of adding more details in future to these? This is much appreciated
