Gaijinhunter's new video just reminded me that we never got Lagiacrus in World. Here's hoping for a return in Gen 6 (if that's what is next!)
More arthropods/snakes and less variants/subspecies, that's all I need. Maybe tone down the amount of elders too.
There does seem to be a heavy focus on Wyverns. Wouldn’t hurt to have a little more variety. I’ve also noticed how the overall amount of monsters is way less then prior games.
It's a result of the move to a new engine. We saw the same thing from Freedom Unite to Monster Hunter Tri. Now that the engine has been established, we'll see the list grow like it did from MH3->MH3U->MH4U->MHX/XX. MH1 had 13 small, 17 large ones. MHFreedom had 13 small, 31 large ones. MH2 had 23 small, 45 large ones. MHFreedom 2 had 23 small, 48 large. MHFU had 23 small, 58 large ones. MH3 had 17 small, 18 large ones. MHPortable 3rd had 20 small, 40 large ones. MH3U had 22 small, 52 large ones. MH4 had 20 small, 52 large ones. MH4U had 23 small, 75 large ones. MHGen had 34 small, 73 large ones. MHGenU had 36 small, 93 large ones. MHWorld has 18 small, 36 large ones. Iceborne has 23? small and, 51 large ones? In Gaijinhunters video he mentioned the developers were struggling with the way Leviathan's long bodies needed to interact with the terrain in world is what prevented them from including Lagiacrus and other Leviathans. They tried to get him in the game in World and then in Iceborne, but couldn't get the movement right with the way terrain worked apparently. Here's hoping they have had enough time to expand the monster list out as well as figure out the issues they had with Leviathans in world.
I love that the dogs are called palamutes. I am just hoping that the character creation is as good as Monster Hunter World's.
Just over a week to go! Be sure to prepare hard; you have to defeat Alatreon first before you can get to Fatalis. The siege weapons ought to help you out when you finally confront the original Black Dragon!
Just gotta celebrate. 19th try. 1 faint, 4 goddamn Elemental Topples. Got the damn thing. Now the real challenge starts...doing this in a group of randos!
So, just a bit of formulating hypothesis about MHRise, How much do you guys want to bet that the guild will think that the Magnamalo is behind the rampage, but it is not actually going to be the cause of the rampage and that an elder dragon is actually being the cause? I know that it's not always the case, but I feel like there is going to be a good ol' fashioned switcheroo on us with the rampage.

The Monster Hunter Youtube Channel announced earlier today that on the 7th at 6am PST, they are going to have a Digital Event to release some big news and reveals, as they put it. I'm pretty excited for this, since I really don't have a solid idea as for what to expect for this incarnation of monster hunter. I'm hoping they bring back the endemic life that you can collect. Having a poogie is fine and all, but I really enjoyed being able to deck out my house with all sorts of critters. Straight up had Uncle Monty's house from A Series of Unfortunate Events. I'm also hoping for a return of the Gigginox, I don't know why they keep adding back in the Khezu when nobody enjoys fighting it over the Gigginox. I just really want a mission where you can fight the two of them at the same time.
Event dropped today, we got some new information: New locale is Frozen Islands, has a semi Nordic feel to the environment New monster revealed is a snow fanged beast that has freezing breath and ice weaponry. Returning monsters include Khezu, Great Baggi, Tigrex, Mizutsune, Lagombi, and Barioth. (One of the characters in the game has some Zinogre looking equipment, so it's possible that the Zinogre might return) Wirebugs will allow you to control monsters for a limited time, which is totally awesome. I'm so excited to play the demo I can barely stand it!
Regarding the demo, it offers training sessions and tutorials on the new monster puppeteer trick, as well as opportunities to slay Great Izuchi and Mizutsune (and any other monster wandering around too). The best part of riding the monsters is that you can also use their status effects, best shown by a Rathian made to tail slap an Izuchi and poisoning it. We got our second turf war too, with Magnamalo delivering a brutal crash to Rathalos. You gotta feel bad for the King, always up front to get smacked up by new guys
I've been playing the demo and it is awesome. It feels a lot better to me than World did. The Great Izuchi fight also has Arzuros present, and its been fun taking both of them out.
its easymode/streamlined mhw. not that im complaining, its exactly what it should be for a portable game. im sure there will be plenty of tough challenges but I can see vets initially bitching about alot of the streamlining done for rise, they did the same for mhw. im cool with it tho i just like to solo these days, kill shit and get cool gear.
