He looks weird as heck, but I actually really dig the design and concept. I think modern Transformers could use more unique and out-of-the-box stuff like this. It's always neat to see some wholly original characters pop up in modern toylines.

Although I do question how profitable these Fossilizers will be. Do kids really care about dinosaur skeletons? When me and my sister went through our dinosaur phase, we wanted toys of a living dino, not just the skeleton (so we could have them go on adventures and stuff). This seems to be the case for most kids, hence why past dinosaur Transformers are either organic dinos or robot dinos. A dinosaur skeleton is a great desk display for an adult, but I'm not sure how playable it is. I'll be curious to see how well these sell. Hopefully they're not shelfwarmers.

There's a reason Super Sentai and PR have gone back to Dino themes more often recently.

    Dinos sell. Skeleton or not.

These Fossilizers look good, but they are not really transformers per say.  They are more add-on K\'nex type toys.  I think they should\'ve been their own seperate line...maybe an updated Skeleton Warriors line.  I think that would\'ve made a more interesting line of toys, especially if they had made seperate vehicles for them.  Can\'t wait to see them in person...will make my final judgement when I have them in hand.

Well its not quite what you're looking for, but junkions were zombies in sg. And they were autobots before siding with magnus. So just consider it another one of sg optimus twisted ideas, a undead troop handed off to rodimus different from the junkions.

Definitely. Boxes stacked on boxes that turn into slightly different boxes with wheels or wings year after year is boring, even if it's given a familiar face from thirty years ago. Do something new.

I'm entertained that Paleotrex's helmet gimmick seems to exist entirely to give Optimus Primal his mace.

For whatever reason the idea of the Predacons having a small army of skeleton foot soldiers is pretty bad-ass to me.

Another fun thing pqleotrex has? He can talk. His mace face jaw moves open and close, thanks to the helmet gimmick. So if you're doing a stopmotion and you're high, paleotrex can beg optimus for his life before primal pulls a tarn and knows his ass

Well of course you would have to be high. How else would you get such a ridiculous idea? Certainly not here.

I do think that the fossilizers seem really cool, but with increasing prices again and the fact that I'm already going to be getting so much next year, I really doubt I'll be able to get these ones.

Can't really agree with you there. Most of the stuff we've had already has been great and not boring in the slightest.

Boring is certainly an over exaggeration, That said though, even as someone who has a lot of recent toys on his want list, in terms of creativity things were starting to stagnate a bit.

This fossilizer looks ridiculously stupid. But it also looks like ridiculously stupid fun. I may end up buying several.
