Just checked Brickseek. 3 stores in my local Michigan area have the 50% off too.

It's still worth checking just to make sure stores in your area have the discount but I agree it's gonna be the vast majority of stores.

Haha thanks, i got over the "but hes not in all fours" way of thinking. Sooo awesome of a figure with details for days i feel like my brain processing needs to keep up. I do wish my ratchet joints were more solid though. Oh no....just got this and i have a feeling this is some gateway drug 20200922_151104_HDR.jpg Also, a bit more appreciation for this guy. While he will take some paint to look better, i think it all starts with a good sculpt. I know i was one of the people who was disappointed with him initially... I don't remember what Ransack was like QC wise but this guy is good. Nothing pops off. The hips need a bit of tightening but that's not a big deal for me.

I never finished the first game all the way through, but I should probably get around to doing that. I DO remember fighting both Jetfire and Bumblebee on the Egypt level in the RotF game. That was utter hell for little 6 year old me.

Speaking of hell, heat guns are hot (like hell, get it?- oh never mind that was stupid).

I got a second Scrapper to customize because I look at the customs on this thread and I’m like, “Holy shit Transformers figures can look like that?!” I have always wanted to try doing it too, especially on someone like Scrapper.

Anyway, I pried the head apart so I’d be able to paint the eye protrusions in the right place. But doing that resulted in some stress marks.

So I decided to use a heat gun because that always works with stress marks, but then the piece just kept blowing away because it’s so small.

So then I decided to hold it in place with one of those modeling armature things (I don’t really know how to explain it), but the grip of it was too tight.

So, when I used the heat gun, the armature thingy’s tight grip caused the head to warp.

So now the peg hole that the other piece of the head goes into doesn’t fit anymore.

So, I don’t know what to do. Maybe there’s an easy fix to this? Did I mention that I didn’t even start painting yet? You guys make it look so easy lol.

I feel bad for Cliffjumper... reminds me of that Combat Carl in the first Toy Story who was forced to just stand there helpless for several minutes while Sid prepares him for an explosive death.

Just received my SS Roadbuster and play with it for a bit.

Ehh..... I'll say that this is just an average figure at best. This figure kinda reminds me of SS Lockdown in a few certain aspects; The sculpting is good, the robot mode looks nice from the front, the alt mode is sweet, but articulation in bot mode is limited at best, the entire back of the figure is nothing but the entire alt mode shell folded, and a transformation manages to be both boring and frustration at times.

One thing I'll give props to this figure however, is that SS Roadbuster looks pretty cool as part of a DOTM Wreckers team display; In fact, that's really the main reason that I even picked one up.

Thanks for all the advice!! I still use the acrylic paints, as well as the Testors, but is been a while since I've painted anything, so I just wanna find an easier way to paint, and not worry abt brushes.

As far as a sealant, I use this one and it works really great: 20200922_210719.jpg
Aah ok, I got you! I found my Blitz over 2 weeks ago, so I think that was a month before his release date, so I was super excited to have found him.

And yea, while I don't play around with him as much, still fiddle with him every day, so I feel you on the appeal for the hunt, and not being as excited after a while.
Your paint job, and his positioning in this pic makes him look sooo much better than what he is!!
I just saw that here in the Tampabay area

Makes me wonder if I should wait on Ratchet. They might Just drop the price on him too after a while.

If you have mild stress marks on the figure, use a hair dryer. Turn on highest setting and hold the part with stress mark close to the nozzle. (Do it on the table if you don’t want to burn your fingers.) The hot air flow will remove them in around 10 seconds. Don’t blow over 15 seconds. If the stress marks persists, cool it down and resume after 20 seconds.
