Definitely a tough pill to swallow for those who purchase a lot of Deluxes. Thankfully, I’m a pretty liberal spender with TFs, so I wouldn’t be hit too bad by this. At least you can still get two Cores for $20 and Rattrap seems to indicate they’ll be fun little desk bots.

The Kingdom deluxes look to be more solid and a bit more complicated than the previous WFC deluxes, maybe the price increase is actually going into making better toys? I'm not sure I'm happy with it as I felt like we should have been getting that quality from the start, but it's also only $2ish bucks.

At least the Voyagers and Leaders are staying the same. Deluxes, unless they stay the same at Target or whatever are simply unjustifiable. With the tax and shipping from Hasbro Pulse, I'm looking at over $30 for a toy that's barely worth $17 (I was planning to go full bore into Selects BW releases.) Toys are toys and Transformers is already more expensive than the other hobbies I've dabbled in—sometimes to a degree which is ridiculous. Those hobbies are ones that I can enjoy company with instead of a brief fix that nobody else I know enjoys.

It's a shame that Hasbro just keeps growing greedier. I was getting really into Beast Wars. Now the characters I like will either need to be on sale or at a different price point.

As a teen, a 20 and change could get me a deluxe but now, with taxes, I'm essentially going to have to pay 25$. Good thing I'm bouncing out of collection after Kingdom.

I think you inadvertently stumbled on a counterpoint. These are *toys*. The target audience is supposed to be around 10-12 years old. Why are we being expected to pay collectable-type prices, for our kids' toys? The size of the toys have shrunk in size significantly, the play value has gone down, and the price goes up. It's a 100% inflation in about 13 years. It means our kids get fewer toys than they would have, because yes - for some of us, they are now too expensive, compared to other toys on the shelves.
And if $2 is not a big strain, then why doesn't Hasbro just start charging $30 for deluxes? Or $40? What is the subjective amount of money that is "too much"?
***Edit: I promise, I'm not try to attack! Just wanted to vent my frustration at the situation - not at Prime Rising or anyone else in the forum :)  ***

Based on Deluxe price increases if it's to continue this trajectory, in the year 2050 deluxe will cost $52.00.

It's pretty safe to say all of us won't be collecting Transformers then.

I'm not personally impacted by this as other collectors might be. I have yet to buy a deluxe from Earthrise, Runamuck will be the first, followed by Runabout, and that will probably be it.

But I can understand why some are bothered by an additional $3 per figure, especially if you are in the habit of picking up all the figures in a line. I see a lot of people saying you shouldn't be bothered by a price increase, but it's important to remember that not everyone shares the same set of circumstances. We don't all make the same amount of money, pay the same amount of expenses, or even collect the same amount of toys in the line, and thus what might seem like a small amount to some, may actually be enough for others to say, well, enough.

but it's relative, your countries prices are your countries prices: not sure if they tend to do price increases worldwide,
but do you want to pay 15% more next year then this year when we're already paying 20% more then we were 2 years ago?
it's not $2, it's $3, and it's less the $3 and more the 15% increase over the 20% increase just 2 years ago, with a 22% increase 3 years before that....
all while getting smaller, hollower, less well put together and with worse QC - I love Earthrise, but consider Hoist because he's in my eyeline. He's a paper thin plastic hollow box with arms and legs.

prices often go up, it is the way of things. But I can hardly think of anything that's prices have gone up 20% every 2-3 years (including Transformers who's prices stayed level for a decade and half, while pretty much consistently getting better — except for during Armada, although those guys were HUGE and came with a mini figure for $10 — whereas now we keep losing things and they keep getting more expensive).
they really pushed that excuse with Siege (which admittedly was quite a bit better then Siege, but I don't particularly think had much improvement over Titans Return other then a few more POA).
Nothing I've seen of the Kingdom leaks lead me to believe they are an improvement over current WFC figures, just differently built since they are beasts. (Ratrap looks great though and a big improvement in complexity over prior Legends at the same price point)

and then you've got Studio Series 86 testing the waters for $30 Deluxes...

Ok, the price increase is legit. It's a dollar more than inflation, but it will last for the next five years, and its across all brands too-- not just TF.

That is at least good to hear. Sounds legit too as they did the same thing to the Black Series a few months back.

To be frank, It doesn't SUPER bother me, but it is a bit annoying since I buy a lot of these, and that price adds up over time. I also collect many different lines.

I'd much rather pay $30 for an incredibly well made larger than average deluxe that includes a bunch of accessories than $23 for what we currently get.

while he looks well made for sure - definitely a mini-masterpiece, but I don't think he's really larger then average (and certainly not larger then average pre-WFC Deluxes were: looks about the same height as Impactor based on the picture with Prime) and we used to get that many accessories with a regular priced deluxe back in the $10 days... thinking Energon you'd often get a gun, a missile or 3, the Energon chip (equivelent of a blast effect...)

Not really surprised with this increase in prices for deluxe TF.  I was waiting for the main retailers to announce it.  Earlier this year GameStop announced their increase prices of some of their prices.  Some of their $20, $25 figures were bumped up to $30.  Some people paid those prices, but for the most part, people waited to see them clearanced out. I think that is what is going to happen to a lot of these toys.  People will wait for a sale or clearance on most of these toys now.  They will also really think twice on spending more for a \"luxury\" item.  Toys are not essential, food, water, and shelter are.  Especially with what the whole world is going through now.  As for me, I have been really picky on what I have gotten.  I used to get them all, but with the increase in prices, I\'ve only gotten ones I really wanted.  I think what will happen in the future would be the streamlining of toylines and less toys being produced.  What is exclusives will really become exclusives due to limited numbers that will be produced.  Price points for those items will definitely be higher with those that can afford them will be the ones that will get them.  Just the way it will go in the future.
