I mean there will always be G1 to a degree. That's just the way the line is now. A Generations Optimus every year. A Megatron most years (even if just a redeco). We'll have Starscreams and Prowls and Sideswips and Soundwaves. But I think going forward it'll almost certainly have to be entirely new designs for them like how it was pre-Titans Return (and even to some degree, TR). I think we'll see new characters. And where appropriate we'll see obscure characters to both flesh out the line and to fanservice G1 collectors, and comparatively obscure bodies, like a Powermaster Optimus Prime if they ever need a "Super Armor Optimus" or "Machine Wars Starscream". Something like that.

The evergreen nature of the brand now compared to 10 years ago means that the core G1 cast (see: Cyberverse) will always have some sort of presence on the shelf. But I think those forms will be increasingly new takes with occasional call backs where appropriate. Take Starscream for example. Here are your classic options: Tetrajet (done), F-15 (done), F-15 in G2 colors (probably at some point), F-15 in Marvel Comics colors, F-15 as Emperor, F-15 as a Ghost, Machine Wars, and that's it. Basically 3 molds. After those 3, they can do what they did before and redo Armada Starscream at a larger scale. After that, we're talking largely new designs - Starscream as a F-22, Starscream as a Bomber, Starscream as a Tie Fighter like thing, Starscream as a triple changer, Starscream as a nother alien jet, Starscream riffing the unused Transtech design. Something like that. I think it's more likely we'll see those for all the core Transformers Brand characters, than it is for us to continue to fill out G1. For example an Optimus Prime in an Action-Master esque deco that transform into a long nosed truck echoing his Action Master vehicle seems unlikely. More likely is an entirely new Optimus Prime design.

 

Guess this question got answered. Tonton's review shows a handle included with Paleotrex that can attach to the head, so it's more of a club now than a ball and chain mace.

 

What non cartoon BW characters would you love to see revisited/redone in the kingdom line?

I would love new versions of razorbeast spittor(based more on his tfa design), polarclaw, sonar, heinrad, big convoy and torca.

 

Polar Claw would be awesome. I'd love to get Bonecrusher and Razorclaw as well.

 

How about a Commander Class Magnaboss and/or Tripredacus?

Someone may have speculated this before but I ain't going through all 120+ pages to see for sure:

Since it seems they wanna go the more realistic route with the beast modes this time around, do you think Megatron will be purple and green or will they give him a more realistic color scheme? Maybe something close but more fitting the style. It ultimately doesn't matter too much because we're always learning new things about Dinosaurs that inevitably fictional portrayals can become outdated and inaccurate over time.

 

Purple dino just more realistically shaped, I think. They wouldn't change so much of his iconic appearance for that.

 

I'm wondering if any of the beast bots will have any pupils. So far I'm guessimg no, but 2 beasts aren't enough evidence

 

I think Rhinox and Primal might. Their beast heads aren't a part of their robot directly. Yeah Rhinox has his skull on his back but that's much more minor than Cheetor's chest. Without the need for the pupil-less look in robot mode, they could get away with it in beast mode

 

Yeah maybe. I kind of enjoy the lack of pupils, but last I checked rhinos usually have eys and so do monkeys. Not sure obout trex though

I'd agree with this, I feel they have a strong sense of the brand characters they want to build out with each new Trilogy while the lines will be filled out with lesser known characters, or perhaps cult favourites would be a better term.

This will be a great way to ensure strong sales, new fans to the generations line and also keeping hardcore fans happy.....well as much as you can keep hardcore fans happy . It's a tough line to balance on but they are doing pretty well with it I think.

So for the next Trilogy, continuing the story from wfc and having your Optimus, Megs, some WFC style G1 87-89 revamps side by side with plenty of newer bots and re-interpretations would make me pretty happy. I love that we are getting the likes of Tracks and Warpath in this line next to Cheetah, Blackarachnia and fossilzers like Paleotrex.

 

Well if we don't get something like massive accessory pack with Centurion Drone, a different Fossilizer with the part, we probably will get a 3rd Party thing.

Definitly Polar Claw. Razorclaw, cause he seems to have a lot of nostalgia for him, honestly a surprising ammount. I'd note that Transmetal 2 Sonar, Spittor and Stinkbomb all have the advantage of also working for a RID homage.

Based on confirmed information, the Titan is almost definitely Autonomous Maximus as The Ark and Rodimus Prime is the Commander.
