What's unreasonably high about wanting a cleaner backpack? Especially when they're going to be charging 20$ for it. There's a reason I haven't bought any hasbro figures since the thrilling 30 was a thing. They hiked the prices and seriously went lazy with the engineering.

My standards come from the price point. I don't mind simple per-say, but, seriously, they couldn't have added another panel to have it fold up one for time so that gap wouldn't be there? Just because it's a toy doesn't mean we can't have standards or that they can't do better.

 

This figure gave my life an ultimate mission: Kup+Weaponizer+Modulator+Fossilizer!!!!!

Part of me is a little sad that 'Generations' has changed direction.
I loved that they were 're-imagined' updates with new alt modes etc whilst still retaining their character. Don't think I could ever replace some of those early 'classics', good solid figues too.
I am liking these SS figures though. Great time to be a collector.

 

Looks great!

Only issue I have is the face not looking that good. I see a new face that is more the right shape in our future from someone. Looks like it is easy to take off as well. Also looks like the wrists can be easily modified to have swivels. So that will be on my list. I have painted up my Titans Return figure to be more show/movie accurate. But still pales in comparison to this guy.

 

I’m scared to see what abominations we’re going to get with this, the Weaponizers, the Modulators, and the Fossilizers.

I like it. It's not the Song of Perfection that is the new Hot Rod, but it's up there. No, not a fan of the face....but, he's got Energon Goodies......ENERGON GOODIES!!!, Lol! That for me more than makes up for the face. Plus, someone will just make a 3rd party version, so it's all good. People are saying this a series in this line? The 86 movie? Has there been rumor of anyone else?

 

Price hikes are another reason why I'm not going into full blown 'consoomer' mode when I got the Titans Return figures. Reselling them isn't going to be optimal and they would be taking precious space if I just went and replaced them without selling. There is no point for me to replace a figure with a 'slightly better in some aspect' version if the original isn't godawful, such as Titans Return Scourge. That guy is trash and mine is falling apart so, yes, he's being replaced. But guys like Kup, Hot Rod and Blurr? Its the same as people who bought Earthrise Optimus a year after Siege. Yeah, we all go suckered for Siege but that's all the more reason for me to not change. Right now as the WFC trilogy has shown, Hasbro knows there is a market of suckers who will buy these figures for a slightly more screen accurate one after these characters were perhaps passed over in Prime Wars over a gimmick or a lack of 100% screen accuracy.

I understand people collect for different reasons or even different aesthetic, but personally I am not some massive purist. It really takes a character whose design I absolutely adore to bother buying a second one of them or it requires a new design, such as Legends Super Megatron. That? Sure, it interest me and its cool as a figure. However there are people like me whose immediate reaction to ER Optimus, Megatron and Seekers were a resounding 'meh', even if I fully acknowledge these have many good aspect. In between the Siege/ER releases being a year apart and so many of the Earthmode iconic G1 characters all being in harder-to-obtain exclusives (Earthrise Thundercracker and Skywarp, Ratchet, Ironhide, Prowl and Bumblebee via Wal-Mart Netflix) its become clear to me that the 'show accuracy, mini Masterpiece G1 nostalgia crowd' are being suckered hard by Hasbro right now with artificial inflation of rarity and value.

Yeah we all waste money on dumb plastic robots from a cartoon made to sell toys, but I can't help but feel a bit dirty about it lately you know? Especially if anything after Kingdom is more season 1 to 3 of G1 with yet more characters redone as even more screen-accurate, with all the popular ones as annoying exclusives.

 

The vehicle mode is cool, but the robot mode is very... strange

 

Oh my God that robot mode.... Words haven't been invented yet to describe how perfect that shit is. I am so glad I didn't buy that old ass generations toy.

 

Hasbro has near nothing to reveal for pulsecon because of these leaks

 

Yeah.. my thoughts exactly. It's especially sad with these 3rd season characters. Their altmodes are too futuristic

 

Am I the only one who thinks Kup looks terrible? He looks like he belongs in a Steambog Willie era Mickey Mouse cartoon
