Price bump doesn't surprise me. Deluxes have been 29.99 here in Canada since Studio Series came out (Voyagers are 39.99 and Leaders are 69.99 for reference). These prices align better with the rest of North America... or at least Canada.

Voyagers aren't going up in price, but those are roughly Deluxe sized figures.

And that's not a complaint, just an observation. The complex engineering they're using to deliver on accuracy is catching up to them on price.

Hasnt it been since the last knight? Also in some places leaders are $75 and come up to $80 with tax, you actually save money buying them in the us(even though the us dollar is higher than the canadian dollar

Yes, you're right. I forgot about the Last Knight pricing bump.

That's why we got so many 'Selects' figures, they just wanted to check ya'll willing to pay more for your deluxe figures.

They gotta bump those prices up, especially since no f**kers buying masterpiece anymore.

Fair. I just think there's a fairly strong case to be made that there isn't enough VALUE GAP between Deluxe and Voyager and that you may see Deluxes underperform on the one hand (as non-picky consumers may opt more for the middle option) and meanwhile fans will pick apart every $23 figure and say, "If it only had another $7 worth of budget, it would be good..."

Right now, Hot Rod and Scourge are 95% loved on these forums. Kup is probably hovering between a C+ and a B- if you average out reactions. I think with the new pricing in mind, you'd see people say that an extra $7, Kup would benefit.

Arcee and Kup (and Earthrise Ratchet and Ironhide and Prowl and a few others) are examples of figures that people are calling lateral moves or even downgrades relative to previous versions. I think a lot of these figures will only really clear the hurdle of surpassing previous takes with a Voyager budget.

It's only going up now because a lot of dairy farmers are having problems due to covid. Same with lunch meat.

Which is the problem with chasing accuracy. It becomes the law of diminishing returns. How many times can you get people to buy the latest version of a classic character before they're happy enough with what they've got.

WfC feels like "it." To such an extent that stuff like ER Prime is going to make it really really hard to market a G1 Prime design again. Even if it's in Studio and changes the paint ever so slightly.

It's why I think stuff like Palotrex is the future. The reaction is overall pretty positive because he's brand new and has NOTHING to compare to in terms of accuracy or scale. So people are evaluating it on it's own merits rather than in comparison to anything they previously own.

And I don't mean "the future" as in everything has to be a modular skeleton...but "the future" in the sense that they should do more all-new stuff in Generations.

I think it’s time to admit that “Toys” like transformers aren’t selling like they used to.
The primary audience (boys 8-12 and up) is more interested in YouTube and instagram. We might be looking at a split between Toys and Adult Collectibles.
ight be a day coming soon that Walmart and Target don’t carry things like Marvel legends or Black series.

    S.H Figuarts, MAFEX, Ect.
There’s an audience for $100 plus action figures. Hasbro would have to up their game, but I’m pretty sure the current market is at its limit.

This sucks. I really had warmed up to the $20 price point, but this isn’t really okay.

Fans: $2 more for a deluxe and Voyagers aren't as big as I want! BOO! The fandom is dead!

Same Fans: Why yes, I will pay $150 for a 3rd party figure that will break if you transform it more than twice! What a deal!

Eh. Not thrilled but I’ll still get the figures I want. This will mostly affect the impulse purchase figures for me.

well from what I remember someone saying a while back that Hasbro makes the most profit off the deluxe class. so it makes sense they would raise only the price of the deluxes.

I was already planning in waiting for sales, so this just confirms that decision for me.
