Main differences on Power Baser are the shiny chrome thighs (the original has flat grey thighs) and the fact that the bumper can be tucked in slightly on robot mode (whereas on v1 it's static).

Heroquest crowdfunder which is (drumroll) USA and Canada only! A little part of me was expecting that, given their recent "efforts" but it's still a disappointment. I dunno, maybe Kapow can emulate what they did with the Unicron preorder. How about it, @Red leader ?

Do you think any retailer is going to offer the quint pit in the Uk, or is this going to be another seeker pack for me, and as I may well but a judge/allicon separately?

I posted a while back that Hasbro confirmed it will definitely release here.

In Demand specifically said they were trying to get it. Kapow specifically said they won't be getting one of the Pulsecon figures. Make if that what you will, but Hasbro UK don't currently have the retailer or price information.

    Found the post...

He's not a looker, is he? Still, looks like Kup and getting a Nick Roche-style look out of this one should be easier than with the others. The scaling is weird though - Hot Rod is toward the shorter end of voyager and Kup toward the higher end of deluxe but there's just so little in it!! Very odd.

Geez! Can he get worse? *Sees Ton Ton forcing an arm transformation joint into positions the wrong way* Apparently, yes!
Hope the arms clip on better than he managed it, and unfortunately you can't put on the Energon Goodies, eh?

What's this conspicuously asymmetrical port for then, eh?

Think Kup is a safe pass for me. LG has a nicer headsculpt imo. Love that he has his energon goodies though. Lol.
Watched the Hot Rod review finally and..... dammit, that's gonna be a hard one to resist. What will they do for Rodimus? That's gonna depend on a lot of factors if I get him.

My toyhax stickers turned up today so yey! Can have some relaxing time stickering folks up now.

Kup looks great, but he and Hot Rod are on the “meh” list for me. They’re great representations of the characters, I just don’t need them. The upcoming Gnaw on the other hand...

EDIT: just saw the new prices for figures. $22 dollars for a deluxe is a pisstake when I know fully well that it means UK prices will go up at least £2 for a deluxe.

It's looking like I'll be able to safely avoid the 86 stuff. Genuinely relieved!

What is going on with Kup's face? The top half looks perfect, but the bottom half looks like he's got some kind of comedy giant mouth filter applied.

Kup. Some good, some less good. Really not keen on how badly it clips together, nor the detachable arm and leg. That just screams "will get loose and fall off all the time overtime"

Also something about it doesn't look like had the same care lavished on it as Roddy.

But will probably get one to go with Rodders who is an absolute screaming must have.

    They've gone Full Eastwood.

You should never go full Eastwood! :lol
Yeah, I think this is a case of waiting for legit reviews of the actual non-factory second copies of the figure before I trade up from Gen. Kup!

Very much in two minds about Kup. The LG version I have is lovely, but ultimately he's a headmaster and that ain't correct. The new version looks great but ironically the weakest part looks to be the head. First world problems, I'll likely give him a go.

    AHSOKA TANO

And so we come to the end of this week-long look at the Rebels Black Series figures, and in my opinion I've saved the best for last. Now, Ahsoka is a very polarizing figure in the Star Wars canon, you either like her or you hate her, and there doesn't seem to be a middle ground from what I've seen. Introduced in the pilot movie for the Clone Wars television series as Anakin Skywalker's padawan. Now, the big sticking issue with people is that Ahsoka, or Anakin having a padawan at all, is never mentioned in Revenge of the Sith, and you think it'd be a bit of a sore spot for Anakin that he'd have to possibly kill his own student, but no. The final two episodes of the Clone Wars kind of address this point, but it's still weird that they gave Anakin a padawan without any corroborating evidence of their existence in the source material, but... *shrug*

    20200920_170538.jpg

In the years between RotS and the Rebels tv show Ahsoka has grown into an adult, and that's what this figure represents. Despite being expelled from the Jedi order under completely unfair circumstances, Ahsoka remains true to their ideals of peace, justice, and wearing mainly browns and other earth tones. The only armour she's wearing is a brown breastplate, with the rest of her outfit being light and easy to manoeuvre in. Now that she's older, Ahsoka's lekku and montrals (the fancy crest on her head) are much longer and more developed than they were during the Clone Wars, and just like the rest of her they are nicely painted. There's a little spot of white covering one of the blue stripes on one side of her head, but it's not egregious. Just like Sabine, Ahsoka's face is using the new printing tech for faces and this is the biggest improvement from the previous releases. That face was just straight up BAD, while this one is amazingly crisp and well defined.

    20200920_170638.jpg

Despite no longer being a Jedi, Ahsoka continues to use her twin lightsabers. One has a curved hilt and a longer blade, while the second has a smaller hilt and shorter blade. There are two hooks attached to her belt piece that allow both hilts to be stored simultaneously. The blades should be white but here are a very very pale blue. She has the standard Black Series articulation but like Hera her head tails impede the head a bit.

    20200920_170716.jpg

So yeah, Ahsoka... personally I like her. Not when she first appeared, but she very quickly grew on me. This is a great representation of her in the Rebels series, and a great way to cap this collection of the main characters from the series, despite her not being a huge part of that series.

And thus 'Rebels week' comes to a close, despite not being official in any way because this is the first time I'm mentioning it. I'm very happy to have this series of figures, as I really enjoyed the Rebels tv series when I watched it earlier this year for the first time. It's becoming more evident nowadays that the future of Star Wars is on the small screen, at least for the time being.
