I like how much he looks like a late Beast Wars goofball like some of the uglier Transmetal 2 or those aborted mutant figures recycled from Animorph.

I like this a lot. I can't wait for the months of discourse about why it shouldn't exist, like when Alpha Bravo came out in 2014.

I hope one of the other fossilizers is some kind of long neck. Just because how damn rare they are within the toy lines over the years.

Its okay, half this line alone insult the GEEWUN fans just by being Beast Wars.

Yeah, no way. Not a fan. Using portions of bones as gear is okayish but I don\'t know that all of it is suitable. The robot mode, ugh... Super not a fan. I\'m sure they\'ll be nabbed fast by collectors and \"oh cool! dinosaur bones!\" kids and that\'s fine. Every toy doesn\'t have to be for everyone.

So just like a lot of the original Beast Wars toys then. Cool animal form, what the fuck ever robot form. How accurately retro!

I kind of want a brushed metal recolor of this guy, to help give the robot mode a terminator vibe. But looking good with what is there.

Of course, the other side to this reveal for me is "Aww, I wanted more Micromaster bases!" (will have to work with what's available. I bought three Ironworks, one of which I used the Toyhax Wrought conversion on, and one grease pit. Could be persuaded to buy another greasepit if Toyhax does an autobot conversion for it. And likely will do the same with Airwave and Hothouse when those become available.)

So far we got five Fossilizers, Wingfinger, Paleotrex, Ractonite, and two unknown Core ones...
We didn\'t know this guy until now, but three deluxe and two core is a bit uneven given at least two I hope are Maximals. On that note it seems the weapon forms will be shoutouts to BW/BM maybe.

Betting Wingfinger is a pterodactyl... but the hell is Ractonite?

Not exactly but they do indirectly benefit since the reviews and leaks build hype/demand early on. It also saves Hasbro money from having to spend resources on creating preview articles/videos. It’s possible that it may cost more to stop factory leaks than to keep it going. They know where the leaks are all coming from.

Ultimately Hasbro gets the last laugh since demand/hype goes up. Think about how many people will preorder this stuff based on how they look in an early review or leak...rather than wait for someone’s feedback on the toy after it’s officially released. All without Hasbro having to provide an early look because someone already did. Ad revenue for reviewers is minuscule compared to profit from mass orders of toys from retailers.

If it doesn’t seem fair, since Hasbro ultimately gets more money than any leaker ever would since Hasbro doesn’t actually have to try to build hype, plus given that it could cost more to stop the leaks... I can see why Hasbro wouldn’t bother. They benefit and they get the most money literally without doing the work of hyping the toy(s). I don’t know all the behind the scenes but this stuff has been going on for the last 15+ years with only a delay given the move of mass production from China to Vietnam starting more than 10 years ago. If Hasbro were to do something, I think they would’ve done it by now. Even today, leaks aren’t as rampant as the Armada days.

Anyways Hasbro will do something if they feel the need.

Back to Paleotwrex. Looks better in robot mode in recent pics. I like the tail sword.

Well, it's a failure because I believe the concept of fossilized bones as an alt mode totally nonsensical as it doesn't have any solid reasoning for why that alt mode would exist when BW already showed fossils scanned for alt modes translated into an estimation of what the animal form would be, and for the purpose of a synthetic organic tissue of sorts to protect against heightened levels of energon which was dangerous.

Furthermore, the actual execution looks terrible as there is almost nothing robotic looking about it in either mode where even beast wars figures and characters clearly had robotic areas in robot mode.

The weaponizer gimic also falls short as it provides very little additional armour and 0 firepower. Bots would have a better go at armour by taking thicker bot limbs from dead bots and attaching to their body instead of spindly pieces. I guess if it's just for melee weapons... eh, still probably better melee weapons out there, but fine, thats about all it would be good for.

Like it all you want, I'm stating my opinion and it is self evident that I am only speaking for myself so, you are allowed to disagree. But that's my reasoning. Looks are subjective, but conceptually, I find the idea totally moronic.

It would make sense if the bone form served some logical purpose when we know the technology would exist to NOT take on just a bone form. Why not an actual t rex mode? If you or anyone can give me a solid reason (perhaps I missed it), I would definitely reconsider my stance.

The Fossilizers are an automatic buy from me, just to support something different in the franchise. The fact I\'ve always loved dinsoaurs doesn\'t hurt either. I might even be in for a couple of each to use as troop builders.

I like how Paleotrex could be hiding in a museum disguised in a display. People think they’re looking at a skeleton but it’s a live Predacon in disguise. That face reveal in robot mode is a cool fakeout too.

Now I'm thinking of when Rattrap was playing a Beast Wars fighting game with Super Street Fighter II sounds, then later a Beast Wars Doom mod. XD
