They'll probably go the Hasbro route when Hasbro used his Megatron stealth bomber design. AKA No.

 

Yeah, I was going to say it is probably similar to many comic book creations, becomes the property of the company instead of the artist. Sure these didn't make the comic itself, but for a licensed property an official submission works the same. The ones I feel sorry for are the Kane family and the family of the creator of Superman.

 

You need to watch* the later DiC-produced seasons:

(which is free on Tubi right now, along with almost all of the Sunbow episodes)

*really, you shouldn't, a lot of those DiC eps are pretty bad! I watched a few, and that was enough...

I grew up in the tail end of all of these Sunbow cartoons, and the later Joe toons is what I remember most. Badass intro song, too!

Metalhead was a fave of mine. Im not saying the later cartoons were the best, but I wouldnt say they are unwatchable or any more terrible than some G1 TF stuff!  

 

Honestly I don't think I remember anything pre-movie from GI Joe from when I was a kid other than the creation of Serpentor episodes. Everything else was the late stuff.

 

I support TFC making more non combining figures, it\'s the right move.

This this has absolutely no place in my collection, but i love the design and the alt modes, so I might be tempted once colour renders drop.

 

I don’t care about GI Joe, but this design is very tempting. Figueroa is a genius.

Re: Don Figueroa's design of Megatron (attachment 28 786 068) based on the Destro's Dominator toy (G.I.Joe, 1990) (attachment 28 786 897): I really like the color blocking. Most iterations of Megatron are mostly grey, and are especially monochrome around the chest, shoulders and head. This version has a horizontal band of red (pauldrons, shoulders, V-neck), against black (helmet, chest), with red again as accents (forehead crest, horizontal stripes flanking the V-neck), which really makes him pop. Same layout as a ST:TNG Starfleet command-division uniform, actually.

IMHO the arrangement of weapons doesn't give him the right silhouette. Megatron's signature is a single overwhelming arm-mounted gun, which can be posed. The shoulder-cannon here has precedent from the G2 tank iteration, but it can't be posed; and the forearm-mounted gold-colored weapons (from the Dominator vehicle mode) are too small for his personality.

 

You put an insecticon in their ear  eewww! On the other hand, maybe that means more gijoe figures lol 

 

I don't expect it will actually happen, but it would be great if it came with an alternate Destro inspired head for bot mode.

 

If this guy is anything like their already incredible Prime, then he'll be a buy for sure.

 

Meh.....the Dominator looks so stupid to me. Why wouldnt they make it something like a Hiss? That is way more recognizeable as a Cobra vehicle...
