Shows how much better the colors are on the new one. The old one looks too drab and at points hard to read visually.

 

Amusing how they took out the "extra hands" from the old version's torso to make it look skinny, versus the New Hotness with the big swords on the back to make that look thicker...

 

I have a feeling they’re intentionally dragging that out so people will buy this to help them recoup the mold  

 

Thanks! I was wondering why they both looked so skinny, but my Volcanicus is in a storage bin currently so I couldn’t compare them.

Damn, I almost want this set, mainly for Red Slag and the new weapons. But I think I’ll hold out for the SS Dinobots.

 

Honestly if you add the PotP fists as the waist skirts like the original this is 100% better in the bulk department(still not saying much though). Too bad it\'s too little too late for too much money.

 

Except it's a preorder that won't be available to February...well after the SS86 reveals. So people could easily cancel their POs once they see the SS Dinobots.

I know conspiracy theories are fun, but I have no idea why people think this some kind of sly attempt to "trick" people who don't know the SS Dinobots are coming when this thread already has a number of people interested in the set.

Including some who are considering (or already committing to) this as a replacement for their PotP set.

 

Wow! If you didn't want it before, now is a whole second opportunity to pass on this!  

 

I dont think the intention is to trick per se, but obviously you’re going to split the market once SS 86 Dinos are officially revealed and available for purchase so there’s an obvious benefit for putting out a re-release and then waiting out before releasing another different version down the line. The issue here of course is that Hasbro and Takara havent really announced the SS 86 line - only unofficial leaks have.

 

...except, like I said:

1. There are people ON THIS FORUM who are excited for this new set even knowing about the leaks.
2. Those who don't know about the leaks and preorder this set can just cancel the preorders because it doesn't release until February.

There's literally no "issue" here.

I missed out on the original POTP version, and I\'m glad I did.  As a Shuraking owner, I didn\'t think I needed this cheaper alternative.  However, Volcanicus is pretty novel, and I appreciate that Takara Tomy like it enough to do a re-release with their own spin on it.  That\'s what is making me take notice.  I\'m also hoping that TF Dreamwave release an updated upgrade kit for this set.

It\'s super cool to think that Shuraking and the ToyWorld version blew HasTak away that they had to introduce it into their own line. It\'s just so novel.  Can\'t wait to get this and the \'86 line!
