It's like people who sat out MP (and the scads of attempted MP-alikes) are finally getting their due.

Such a shame that there was no movie featuring the MTMTE comic characters :lol

Was it said somewhere that studio series is meant for movie studios or do comic studios count as well? :lol

So much this. It looks fantastic, and scale be damned, this will look fantastic on a shelf with either a 3P Galvy or an official one. I’ve been questioning my commitment to the MP line/scale, and with these looking like this I’m happy to grab these characters and call them done.

Show us Galvatron and Cyclonus please!!!

Well we already know what Cyclonus will look like. Except he's part of Kingdom, rather than Studio Series

Whoever designed this, needs to educate the rest of their designers (especially the G1 MP designers).

The good thing about a new scourge is that all the old ones you had now get to be sweeps

Whether you agree with their reasoning or not, it's impossible to meet the design goals of the MP figures without those "gaps and panels".

There's a stark difference between looking 90% screen accurate and saying "good enough", and shooting to bridge that remaining 10%. At mass-market quality, the designers are willing to compromise on shape and design for functionality. For MP, all the functionality goes into achieving as close to 100% accuracy as physically possible.

3p offerings say otherwise. But lets not start this discussion here which is completely off topic.

3Ps aren't even close to achieving the design standards that the TT designers set for themselves.

I'm 100% serious. I've yet to see a 3P toy that succeeds in taking a boxy 80s vehicle, and turning out a robot mode that features all the subtle angles and curves of hand-drawn art as well as TT can, while simultaneously delivering human-like articulation range. Some have tried, but they're still far from close.

I stand by my sentiment that this is not the place and the thread to discuss this. Lets be polite and not derail it further.

He actually has a point tho.
Has / Tak have a lot of regulations to adhere to that unlicensed 3P does not.

    ****edit****

    Gonna have to clarify this:
I come across something years ago that, to paraphrase, that the Has / Tak designers do, and have designed to pretty impressive figures; however it’s the bean counters that slash budgets as well as government standards that influence those designs into the figures we get.

At least that’s what the story was before.

But back then I questioned that stuff.

Back in the day when we were asking for our figures to be like the leaked Hot Rod and Scourge we were told that because of budgets and standards we couldn’t have them. (And called dirty names on top of it).

But here we are finally getting what we wanted. Gotta ask: what changed to make these possible?

Hope so too, but everything I knew about target sales has been off since Covid, we would normally have had more than 1 all encompassing toy sales by now.
