Personally, i'd have to go with Takara. It's mainly cause Hoodlum's baby face is a bit too off-model for me. At the same time, those gaps in between Hot Rod's arms and body...

    GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOODNIGHT MOOOOOOOOOOON.

Got Hoodlum, along with Roadking...I don’t have time to mess with him yet, I’m working, but I did take the time to check the front of the hood for that paint chip. Not a scratch or chip in sight. Let’s see if it lasts. I’ll look more thoroughly later, but thought I would share. Not sure if it’s a later run thing or not.

I have FT and TT and I was on the fence about which I preferred. They both have pros and cons.
Then one day I picked up my TT figure and tried flipping down the visor, which literally fell apart after sitting on my shelf untouched for at least a year.
I'm preferring FT over TT because my official figures shouldn't fall apart.

Is it just me or does the Earthrise Hot Rod take some ideas from Hoodlum??

No, because Earthrise does not have a Hot Rod figure.

Even if you were referring to the SS86 one, it's a different transformation, and has fake chest.

Of course it’s a different transformation. I’m saying the way the torso transforms is like a cleaner/easier version of what FT did.

The chest is real, it has a fake hood.

Just some similarities I noticed. The use of a chest piece that is not the front of the car. The way the arms/sides of the car rotate to be on the opposite side in bot mode. That the half of the headlights hide behind the chest.

Now this is just being pedantic for no real reason. Obviously they were talking about how the area in the character model that is clearly the chest and car-front of Hot Rod is not the same physical part on Fanstoys Hoodlum. You can say "fake hood" or "fake chest" and they mean the same thing since neither becomes the other in in the respective modes.

Would you do this if someone called Takara's MP Optimus toys grill "fake abs" or "fake grill"? They're obviously referring to the use of a fake part.

How does this level of pedanticness contribute to any discussion?

Do you need me to put that in blue? A lot of discussions in the SS86 thread was about the fake chest. I did like that the SS86 version is doing the arms being rotated, just like in the movie, which when Hoodlum was announce, I was hoping it had.

I've had Hoodlum for a while now and I've had the same issue with him...just one. The chest clips on his shoulders that run from front to back, I can't keep them hooked onto the back plate. When I manipulate the arms they pop off. Is there a fix for this???

    Just checking!

I believe Fanstoys will probably revisit Hoodlum the same way they did with Spindrift.
