As someone who grew up on Getter Robo, I'm not going to even begin to complain about faux parts when animation accurate transformations are pretty much impossible.

If by forever, you mean just two toys only as far back as 3 years, then sure. Forever.

I'm so unbelievably floored by how great this design is. Just an absolute perfect balance fun, accuracy, and modern detail. I assume it is a Shogo Hasui design and if so, he continues to outdo himself.

I get that. POTP is my favorite hot rod and it has the fake chest too. When I first saw the ss86 vehicle mode, the way the hood was gapped looked like it would possibly become the chest (the top half at least). Still cool though. I really like how the kibble is so minimal and the hood is at least inside the chest (I guess it did become part of it after all). Compared to the amount of fake parts on the MP line for screen accuracy I think this is way better

I'm just amazed at how this is probably the best Hot Rod figure we've ever gotten by far, and for the price of a Voyager!? I'm speechless..

But Takara should be capable of literal magic in their designs!

It won't be a stand in for my MP collection but it's still definitely looking like the best Hot Rod figure ever made. I'm more excited for this than any other figure right now. The fact they've finally nailed a Hot Rod without clunky proportions, a nightmare transformation or excessive kibble just makes me super happy.

@Phamduc if you leave the legs mistransformed like tonton did, does it recreate a look like the original G1 toy with the wheels and pipes on the legs? Or does it just look bad? Might be a repaint idea for me to try if it looks ok :D

This figure definitely raised the bar! I now look forward to more 1986 movie excellent figures. Hasbro, please please don't disappoint me.

Is Hot Rod really a Voyager class figure? Given there are so many accessories, articulated hands, eye glasses, I wouldn't feel surprised if Hasbro price it to leader class ...

    He's a slightly-tall-Deluxe-sized Voyager-class figure.

So uh why do we still have this thread going? I feel like we're kind of spreading discussion a bit too much. We should probably make a proper "SS86 Rumor and discussion" thread or something.

Hot Rod looks astounding. There are toys of higher priority next year *cough*Selectsismebait*cough* but he will definitely be on the radar. Those opening hands are amazing and I probably would have paid for a TR Hot Rod all over again if it simply had opening hands to hold a Matrix. Wonder if it will be remolded into SG Rodimus? Hope so and he has the big mustache from Unicronus.

Exactly my thoughts when my posts were moved from the existing thread to yet another thread earlier today.

I'd guess Hot Rod gets a Selects release as SG Rodimus, and Kingdom Rodimus gets a Selects release as Lucky Draw Gold Godimus Primus.

I know it was all over and done with, but I was away this weekend (popped in a time or two) and couldn't help myself...

    I apologize, in advance.

    Is this the real thing?
    Is this just third party?
Caught in a sale, no escape from poverty.

Open your wallet, look up to the pegs and see...
I'm just a poor guy, I need a loan today, because my wallet's
hard to come, easy go, way too high, not enough low...

Anyway the market blows doesn't really matter to me...

    ...to me...

    Hasbro, just killed a wallet.
Put a card reader against the leath', pushed the button, now it's dead.
Hasbro, check had just cleared, but now I've gone and blown it all on you...

Hasbro, oooh, you meant to make me cry, and I'll not be back again this time tomorrow,
cuz I'm broke, cuz I'm broke and to you it don't even matter...

Too late, more figures have come, sends shivers down a wallet's spine, cards are achin' all the time.
Goodbye, fresh new dollar, you've got to go. Gotta spend you away and get the figs...

Hasbro, oooh... I don't want to cry, but sometimes wish my wallet hadn't been opened at all....

    (Cybertronic Spree guitar part)

I see a little silhouetto of a fig, I will buy, I will buy, I will buy the damned thing now!
Sales so inviting, figures are enticing me!
    (Optimus) OPTIMUS!
    (Megatron) MEGATRON!
    Megatron-o figure-o
    MAGNIFICO-O-O-O-O

I'm just a poor guy, nobody stops me..
He's just a poor guy, with a bad spending mentality
Spare him the purchase of this monstrosity!

Hard to come, easy go, will you let me blow (my money!)
No, we will not let you blow (your money!)
No, we will not let you blow (your money!)
Will not let you blow (your money!)
Never let it go.... OH, NO NO NO!
Oh Mama Hasbro, Mama Hasbro let me blow (my money!)

Unicron has a Galvatron set aside for me!

So you think you can show me and not let me buy?!
So you think you can love my wallet and leave me to cry?!
Oh, Hasbro, you can do this to me, Hasbroooo...
Just gotta get out, just gotta get out the credit caaaaard!

Nothing really matters, as long as it's plastic-y...
Nothing else even matters, nothing else even matters....to me....

Any way the market blows.... (CH-CHING)
