I didn’t like him in G1, but I feel he has a lot of opportunity for a coming-of-age type character arc. Unfortunately, it’s never been done well. That being said, this looks like an awesome figure.

Its cause there's already three leaders. magnus, bw megs, and galvs. Of course, magnus is a retool, so who knows, maybe it doesn't really count. But since commander is really the only spot, than the answer seems commander

magnus would be a retool of his siege self basically, as for where to fin them, that would be tricky

 

You know what's telling? At the start of 3rd party, most third party products were kits to enhance Classics/Generations figures. Then, after mp10 and during prime wars, third party seemed to shift to full figures, many of whom were in masterpiece scale. But lately? Seeing more and more generations enhancement kits from third party. Hasbro has regained control of the meta.

Can he hold combat ports to hold target masters? If not I will be disappointed and will be drilling my own combat ports

 

Faux chest is so disappointing, but he looks great nonetheless.

 

We really are spoilt these days. I thought the latest generations were as good as it gets, but this is on another level

Masterpiece and 3p MP designers take fucking note.

You don't need 2000 parts and a 40 minute transformation to achieve the accuracy you desire.

This figure is the PERFECT example as to why I hate what the MP line has become and has been for a while.

Hey you guys can get pissed off all you want just because I’m not a zombie who buys everything immediately, but hey, my money, my choice. And my choice is to buy a deluxe at deluxe price. If you want me to get all these at retail price and accept it,then by all means, buy them all for me. I’ll gladly have the entire line  

 

4 leaders - Earth Magnus (retool of Siege to make the cab more like OP's cab, but still has exposed hands in truck mode, and the trailer still clips around the truck so no trailer swivel and barely any remolding on trailer according to our leakers, so still can't actually carry any deluxe figures inside), BW Megatron, Galvatron, repack of ER Optimus.
Rodimus is said to be voyager height, include full trailer, and be "a controversial size" so that's why he's assumed to be Commander.

I wonder if some collectors are tapped out, OR if the MP market is just over-saturated...

Here's a spin: Hasbro should consider releasing more weapon packs or add-ons.
I know it'd be akin to those annoying add-on releases in gaming, but such releases could be more affordable than going 3P or having to buy a 3P figure because Hot Rod's wings are too small, etc.

 

Impressed. Might be the first hasbro figure I will have bought in years.
